This is a New York-style pizza place, and my fiance's coworker from NY claims he is back home when he is here.
My fiance's favorite slice is the Sicilian pizza they make, and I don't blame him. It is different from the other pizzas they make as it has a thick deep pan crust - the kind made perfectly with a crispy outer edge, but a slighly doughy "mama's-fresh-loaf-of-bread-just-came-out-of-the-oven" texture. It looks just like a pepperoni pizza slice but once you sink your teeth in, you'll see why it is so much more!
Parking was very difficult to find though, and bring your cash as your plastic is no good here. All we wanted was a cheap piece of pizza but we found that parking options in the area were at least $5. Obviously not into that, we drove around a while until we found a bank, and a free spot to park on a residential street.
Man o man, we certainly had to go through a lot trouble just for a few slices of pizza, but our tastebuds thanked us!

I tried this "restaurant" because my fiance had a hankering for Tex-Mex or Sonora Mexican cuisine. I read some reviews on various sites, and thought it sounded like it was worth checking out. In a couple reviews I read a few comments that described the restaurant as being, "kid friendly and a romantic environment."
I experienced this spot first hand, and unless you are homosexual or consider a group of homosexual men "kids", or find loud noise and an awkward environment romantic, then I think you would have to disagree with those statements.
I wouldn't really describe this place as being a restaurant either... This place is far more like a bar, and well a gay bar. My fiance and I really felt out of place being there, as a heterosexual couple, and the minority.
The food overall was of good quality but no better in flavor and taste than On the Border's restaurant. The tables were crammed together, and the wait to get seated was horrendous.
There were a lot of people that came out dressed in club gear, looking as if they were trying to find a date also. I dunno.. if you like that kind of thing maybe you'd find this spot interesting. But, I sure didn't.

The crowd outside on Hollywood Blvd can be fun to watch. There is a clown who forms balloons, and a local street performer dressed in a gold costume, who dances mechanically while making weird sounds with his mouth. lol.
But, inside the theater is just like the movies! Its huge, and elegant and I believe movies are played on digital projection. The seats are comfortable, and there are plenty of them!
My fiance and I went to a free movie screening for our first time visiting the theater and they handed out free popcorn and drinks. :) By far, I found it to be the best theater in LA.

Yikes. Ok guys, my fiance and I received an invitation on Hollywood Blvd. to come to a midnight show at the Laugh Factory. The representative on Hollywood Blvd told us we'd get free drinks inside, and that the invite got us into the event for free.
We were hesitant and tired by the time the show came around on the day of. But, we decided to make the 30 mins trip and pay for parking since we'd be getting in free with free drinks. heh.
Well, when we got in, there was a seat planner, that was trying to squish us in the middle of the room, jam packed between everyone else. We didn't want to move, we were comfortable, and didn't want to be squished in beside other people, but the "seat planner" insisted or else we'd be removed.
We then noticed, the signs in the club, that said "a two drink minimum purchase per person is required", and thought that likely means we were misinformed. Sigh. It's no wonder how they make their money. The drinks were jacked up in price. A simple small cup of soda pop was $4 (no refills!). Any other drinks were over $8 and for two people would have made a $40 difference vs FREE like we had thought.
We spoke to the manager about what we were told, and even showed him the printed ticket that mentions the 2 drinks inside deal. But, quite frankly he was a jerk, and didn't care. We either bought drinks or left. We planned our night around this event, the least he could do was let us have the option not to buy drinks, if he wouldn't honor what we were told by his employee!
The owner became rude, and verbally abusive, and at that point it didn't matter if we bought drinks or not, he was going to kick us out. So, my fiance was pretty ticked off about the whole thing, and he called the police to make a report. They came over and talked to us and the owner, and basically sided with us, but there was nothing we could do, since it was a private establishment.
The owner could do what ever he wanted basically. Well, I just want to get the word of mouth around, because I too, can do whatever I want, as a very unsatisfied customer!

A nice place to go for dinner on a date. It's busy and happening, the food is inexpensive and great tasting. If you order the "gorgantuan" sized entrée, you'll have enough to feed a family of four or left overs for two to eat a full meal the next night. They have an unusual way of selecting dishes. They have a basic noodle and ingredients, to which you select a meat to mix in. The rolls they provide for free are exceptional. They are truly delicious and are a great compliment to the meal. The waiters are professional, can rehearse the specials with ease, and are very quick to provide assistance. All in all, a friendly environment, that I would highly recommend. Call the telephone number, the recorded voice is hilarious!
