There are few "old" movie theatre left, but the Del Mar is an exception. The Del Mar made its triumphant return on Pacific Ave a few years ago after being restored. It's a good thing too. Del Mar has the coziest theatre seats and has that old time film feel while watching new (indie) movies. The screens are set behind red velvet curtains, making it feel as glamourous as hollywood. On Wednesday night at midnight, Del Mar shows older movies and hands out prizes to lucky winners. Midnight movies is an experience that many in Santa Cruz have come to know and love.
