We love this place! We take friends here all the time and other than wait times to be served (sometimes it seems like we're forgotten for a bit) I really enjoy eating here. The menu is spruced up comfort food and has great sides. It's casual enough to bring kids but nice enough that you can use it for date night.

I should preface this by saying I came here because of an ad on craigslist of a student needing hair models. She was doing bobs that week. I have a bob and was looking for a shape-up and thought that maybe she would be able to spruce it up and make it look more modern. What I got was a basic trim. I asked if she could cut the back shorter than the front (inverted bob) and blunt cut the ends. She said she couldn't do that (?? as in you are unable because you don't know how or you can't because that is the rules?) Apparently the only variation I was allowed to request were layers (which I didn't want). On the plus side it was cheap and since I was the first appt. of the day it was relatively quick. They weren't pushy about buying product which was nice and put on a new aveda lipstick color on me before I left. I will probably try them again but expect it to be a trim not an actual cut/style. (visited in 3/2007)

My husband actually found this place and sent me the most amazing tulip arrangement for my birthday one year. They have been my florist ever sense! I've even used them for a wake we had for my father-in-law in southern Oregon (I had them make up 6 different arrangements for buffet and tables and took them with me.) I SO wish I had known about them when I got married. Their use of blooms is expansive but do expect to pay for them! The staff is friendly and helpful, the atmosphere is frenetic yet fun (shop bird and cat). They have cute gift items and a coffee place next door that you can go to while you wait! HIGHLY recommend for something impressive and different.

I found them through their ad in Seattle weekly. They were offering a great package that included an hour massage, aromatherapy scalp treatment and something else all for like $100. There is also a great spa shower. The reason I don't remember the exact package is because they modified it for me because I was pregnant. The modifications worked great and it was relaxing overall. I have to say I'm not crazy about their location or set up (not nearly on par with places like Ummelina or Gene Juarez) but then again their prices were far less and wait time to get in shorter. They could work on the shared/public areas being more calming and quiet but overall the massage was good, the jellybath foot soak was great and I will definitely be back for another inexpensive package!

I've had several pedicures at both their downtown and Bellevue locations. I can't say enough. The private rooms, the great reclining chairs, eye mask, blanket, music, paraffin dip all make for an extremely relaxing pedicure. It was definitely a spa treatment. They massage up to your knees and I've even had them do a temple massage while my feet were sitting in the wax, wrapped in plastic booties and towels. HIGHLY RECOMMEND. I did my last pedi 2 days before having my baby, great way to get your toes ready for ANY major event.

Having been to several resort spas and smaller spas I think Ummelina does a great job of offering a relaxing, calming environment. They are a REAL spa, not some salon, shoved in a mini-mall trying to create treatment rooms our of old office spaces like some places I've been. They give you a spa visit from start to finish. The calming music, tea, robes, foot soaks, neutral colors all allow you to leave stress at the door and get ready to enjoy your treatment. I've had massages, scrubs, steams and sauna and ALL were very good. The only thing that wasn't up to the same standard was their pedicure (in my opinion). It was done in a semi private area so people were walking through and someone else was having one done right next to me. It was done in an oversized recliner chair (similar to a lazyboy) and they had to bring everything in there with them. It just wasn't very relaxing and for the price I won't do another pedicure there. Gene Juarez (downtown and Bellevue) beats them in the spa pedicure area hands down!!!

My friend and I both are registered here and find it EXTREMELY inconvenient to not have an online registry. We both have many out of town/state relatives and this has made it nearly impossible to have them buy things from our registries (they will email or fax a copy of our handwritten registries but there are no pictures). Also, I have to say that upon reading the above reviews I'm nervous about having to return something. The new Babystyle store in Bellevue may be the way to go, they have high quality products, an online registry a great return policy AND outstanding customer service.
