Rick's is one of the worst "clubs" I have ever been to. I went to UM for undergrad and never once had the desire to go down there. I only went after I started law school at UM because the law students usually have bar nights there. I agree with L.K. that part of it's allure is that it is very convienently located as opposed to other more sophisticated places like Rush Street on Main Street. Another reason for it's allure, especially for older grad students, is that if you're a guy who just wants to hook up with a drunk and vulnerable undergraduate girl, this is the place to go. I was never a party girl so I don't understand how a dirty, smelly underground wasteland would be an appealing place to meet someone who is just as dirty. Someone please open another club a bit more sophisticated and classy for the rest of us!
