I am surprised to find such a negative comment... Our office frequents this establishment about 4 - 5 times a year for our birthday celebrations.
There are several of us who share meals and have never been charged for an additional plate. One of our gals order hot water every time and it always arrives in a coffee cup.
The food has always been very tasty and is plentiful. As for the gratuity of 17%, the reviewer before me should have expected at least an 18% gratuity added to the bill as this is customary for groups larger than 8. We are always at least 10.
Perhaps she should have spoken directly with the management AND the employee. It seems that the server she had, must have been new. It is just like any other establishment, the first person you speak with usually gets the rap for the entire place. This is what I think is truly unfair.
We really enjoy Marco Polo's. We always call for reservations ahead of time and our table is usually ready upon our arrival. Our meal is served at the proper temperature and arrives fairly quickly. We can usually enjoy our celebration and be back to work in a timely manner.
The only negative comment I have is that I think it is priced a bit high for lunch.... I encourage that person to give it a second try....
