But the people who work there are the nicest, friendliest crew! I've lived in the area for four years - and there appears to be little employee turnover. This company clearly takes care of their employees.

Of the 3 Chutney's I've been to - this one has the nicest decor and the most professional service. I'm a sucker for anything with paneer. The nan is excellent, and the dal is pretty tasty too.

After two trips to Thailand I can honestly say - this place is pretty authentic. (Well, as authentic as you can get without access to the incredible produce markets in that country.)
Here are the things that leave me with a pang of ache, missing Thailand:
1. The peanuts with scallions served to every table
2. The decor - it's pretty right-on
3. The red pumpkin curry
4. Anything with pickled lime leaves
It's a great date place, and a great family place.

I'm heading in to my last year of the MSW Extended Degree Program at UW. Oh, hindsight... If I had it to do all over again - I would've gone with the Day Program. In the end it would've saved me money and time.
Evening/weekend students end up paying twice as much ($395 per credit). I cry each time my Direct Loan statement comes.
The program also claims to be geared toward people who must work full time while going to school. This is utterly impossible. The 2nd year - you have a 16 hour/week practicum. The 3rd year - it's 24 hours/week. I don't know who can work 40 hours/week, do 24 hours/week of practicum AND take 1-2 classes per quarter.
Evening/weekend students have little choice regarding electives, and can't choose a specialty (clinical, administrative). We're all "Advanced Generalists." Choices for instructors are also pretty much nonexistent. You're stuck with the schedule and professors they give you, and don't bother complaining about it.
If you like low-expectations - this may be a good program for you. The TA for my first class announced that spelling/grammar would not be factored into the grading of the papers. Huh? This is a graduate program??
I'm just getting the "paper," then I'm free.

Although Budd & Company is my tried and true mechanic - I use Firestone for tires, oil changes, and alignments. (Their lifetime alignment is a great deal! It pays for itself after the second alignment).
I love the staff here. They're always upbeat, helpful, and funny. They make suggestions but are never pushy about repairs.
Firestone offers lots of coupon deals. Check your junk mail and your Safeway receipts. You can almost always get an oil change for less than $20.
I always make an appointment and plan to leave my truck there for the day. Wait times can be a bummer, and there's not a lot to see or do close by.

We knew exactly what we wanted. Fisher & Paykel has the only stainless fridge that would fit in our kitchen and doesn't have those black textured sides. It's also a decent price - for stainless.
We started off at Albert Lee and were intimidated. They don't advertise prices, and the wait for a salesperson (especially on a Saturday) can be daunting.
So, we headed off to Almvig's. We're not much for shopping, and just wanted to order our fridge and go home. We set up a delivery date, and my partner took the day off of work.
By 1:00 PM on the scheduled delivery date- there was no sign of our new fridge. My partner called Almvig's only to find out that the fridge was on back order and wasn't due in for another week.
Apparently, the salesperson at Almvig's had no intention of calling to tell us this. She did apologize, but the damage was done. Really, how inconsiderate!
We canceled our order with Almvig's, received a full refund and bought the fridge for the same price at Albert Lee.

Most recently we needed to have our entire electric panel replaced. (The flickering lights and ozone smell in the basement were a good tip-off).
Reinhart isn't the cheapest, but they're well-established, knowledgeable, and prompt. They handled all of the permits and coordinated with the city inspector.
I trust them.

I'm gonna have to go with 4 stars for Tar-jhey. They're great for household stuffs - cleaning supplies, tp, health and beauty.
The clothes... not so much. Why is it that I go from a size nine to a size 11 or 13 every time I try something on at Target. I just end up all depressed, hating myself, and don't buy anything. Then I have to remind myself that their clothes are crap and are going to disintegrate in a few months anyway.
I love the kitchen section and am somewhat of a Michael Graves fan. Thank you, Target, for being head and shoulders above WalMart and KMart - bringing fab design to struggling Gen X and Gen Yers.

This is a tale of a partly crappy car experience and partly crappy dealership experience.
My first Saturn saved my life. I had a nasty roll over accident one winter on the I5/I405 interchange. I rolled multiple times down a 200 foot embankment - landed upside down - and walked away with minor scratches and bruises.
Needless to say - I marched right back to Saturn and bought another one. Thus ends any positive experiences I had with Saturn cars and employees.
The dealer set me up with a new Saturn comparable in every way to my old one - except he charged me $500 for floor mats. Since I didn't catch this little detail until after I signed the paperwork I was stuck with floor mats that should've been stitched with gold thread. OK. I'll give them that. Caveat emptor.
That car was nothing but trouble. It was brand new, and it was in the shop once a month - various problems with the fuel injection system. It even broke down while I was on vacation in San Francisco. Leaving me stranded there four days past my vacation. I was incensed.
In order to get any action under the lemon law - there has to be either 1)safety problems or 2)the same part has to go bad 3 times and then still not be right. I qualified under #2. I had one fuel injector replaced 3 times at the dealership. And I wasn't about to wait for time #4. After all, I bought a new car precisely so that I would not be at the mechanic's all the time. I also needed reliable wheels since I was part of Compass Health's crisis response team.
I repeatedly asked the dealership for a different car. They flat old said no. I wrote numerous certified letters to the dealership and headquarters, and no one ever responded.
So, I drove around with a sign in my rear window reading "Ask me why Saturn sucks." Since I had the maintenance package - Saturn did all of my oil changes - and I'd drive right in there sporting that sign. No one ever asked we what was up.
Oh, and their commercials are a farce. No one at the dealership ever offered me donuts or fresh coffee.
I traded in that stupid Saturn and took a financial hit on the trade. But I love my Nissan pick up. and I'll never buy another GM car.

This is one of the best thrift stores within the Seattle city limits. They re-stock all day long (as opposed to the places that only put out fresh stock in the AMs and generally not at all on weekends).
They carry great brands at great prices. And their clothing seems to be in better condition than other thrift stores.
I concur with all of the socially responsible reasons wys r. listed. Not only are you engaging in the ultimate recycling, but your money is supporting and strengthening the community.
