along Portage Bay in the U-District. I too find it hard to find non-greasy food, and even more expensive restaurants just pile on the oil. People go there for the views and proximity to kayak rental, but I go there for the fantastic homeade Mexican food. They use the best ingredients, and is not too expensive. Their salsas are unbeatable.
Be warned, though: Agua Verde is a beautiful place to go on a nice day, so expect crowds and confusion unless you go on a rainy day.
And because most people go there regularly, the procedures for getting your food/menu/where to sit which seem normal to regulars can be confusing. The staff are very busy, but the place is filled with happy customers, so just strike up a conversation with those around you when you have questions

Our 80 year old house in Seattle needed new plumbing throughout. It was one of these classic problems where you start off needing a new waste pipe, and then you realize that that is just the tip of the iceberg. Chris, of CSN Plumbing, usually does plumbing installation of new homes and additions, but he was willing to do the work, provided pretty much all the plumbing was to be replaced. Once a couple walls were opened up, we realized he was absolutely correct. It seemed that everything was failing, or on the verge of failing. We were satisfied to see it all replaced, even though the scope and cost had increased dramatically from what we had originally intended.
Chris was very fair and forthright about issues that came up, gave us a fair quote, and we got our money's worth. He was prompt, worked well with other trades, completed the work quickly and efficiently, and was personable.
We would recommend him for any new construction, addition, or total plumbing replacement. Do note that he is not a finish plumber, nor is he a plumbing repair man. We were sick of the patch jobs done over the years, and were happy to pay to have all the decrepit inner workings replaced.

We had our 1926 house bolted down to the foundation by these guys, and they were great. Seismic retrofitting is one of the top things to do to be prepared for emergencies in Seattle. The cost was a little high, but when you consider that it only cost 1.2% of the value of the entire house, and may, if something particularly nasty happens along the Seattle Fault while we're in the house, save our lives, we splurged.
Jackson Remodelling is also know as Sound Seismic, as they have branched out to remodelling from their seismic retrofit work. Many people like to do a full basement remodel along with the retrofit, but we stuck with the basics, which include bolting the mudsill to the concrete foundation, attaching the first floor to the wood foundation walls, and creating stiff sheer walls above the concrete foundation. In installing these walls, they put in insulation, for added comfort.
It took them 5 days, their crew was very friendly, effecient, and tidy, and were willing to to a few little extras at our request. I value a clean jobsite greatly, as it shows they care, and I was happy to see how clean they were at the end of each day.
We are probably going to get bids from them for a little upstairs project we have coming up just because we liked their work so much.
