Baby it's you is one of Houma's finest clothing stores for children up to size 6x. The selection in this store is always excellent and the new styles are arriving daily.
They now have infant halloween costumes in stock, but hurry over to get yours as they won't last long. The costumes are all as cute as a button and although, they are pricier than other stores, they are top of the line.
How cute would a boy look dressed like a centipede for his first halloween or your little angel dressed as such??
They are located at 416 corporate drive in houma, right on the corner of corporate and hollywood rd.
peace,

Held on the Sleca office grounds, located on coteau road right across from slumberger's in Houma, this festival has something for everyone.
This year it will be from 10/21 10-4pm and will feature over 200 craft and food booths, most of which are residents of the south Louisiana area. Admission is always free to this show and there's plenty of free ample parking. The show also is offering free entertainment through the day.
The farmer's market offers a wide variety of fall vegetables for sale, including but not limited to pumpkins of all varieties, shapes, and sizes.
Some of the different types of crafts offered are woodwork, candles, embroidered items, ceramics, and much more items to vast to mention. Some of these items are holiday themes, some aren't so this is the perfect place to get the last of those Halloween items and get a jump start on Christmas shopping.

Now within the last four or five years, pumpkin patches are popping up all over the area and here's one of the newer ones, but don't let thier newness have an affect on how great this one can be.
We went last year as family, we didn't purchase a pumpkin because we already had bought our pumpkin at another location, but we took the kids for the fun of it, kinda like looking for something to do for the day.
They are open every saturday during the month of October from 10-5 at the St Matthew's Episcopal School grounds. They are located in downtown Houma on Barrow St. cattecorner from the old Dupont's.
If i remember correctly last year they offered face painting, cake walks, hoola hops contests for prizes, apple bobbing, photos, story telling, games, a boutique full of great items for the season, and of course many pumpkins. Big ones, little ones, odd shaped ones, can all be found here.
I probably didn't list half of the stuff they have to do, but I can't remember any thing else, just take my word for it and get there, it's fun to be had for the whole family.

Mom and I swung by Vicki's the other day to pick up her embroidered shirts for work and I was just browsing.
Ms. Vicki has the Halloween embroidered items out in full swing, including sweats, t-shirts, trick or treat bags, even cute little jumpers for the babies in your life. How cute to have a "baby's 1st Halloween" shirt to remember the season by.
To me, the items seemed reasonable priced, and since Ms. Vicki has been doing embroidery for many years, you know you are getting quality with each item. She also has items for all schools, gym bags, cheerleading bags, purses, and she does embroidery for businesses.
Check out Ms. Vicki at Ms. Vicki's embroidery and let her help you with all of your embroidery needs, no matter the season.
Peace,
Nola

Mom and I were at Lulu's the other day searching for a baby shower gift and they had the cutest little costumes. The baby girl's had Tinkerbells, princesses, and ladybugs.
The little guys of your life had some sort of bug costumes and firemen's as well as police. The costumes here are much fuller than the costumes bought at the discount stores such as walmart, but the price is considerably higher. I think the costumes were about 35.00 as a general price range, but for thier first Halloween, or the first Halloween where they can trick or treat, not bad of a price.
Also the costumes are cut generously so the child might get two years worth of wear out of one costume.
Lulu's also carries a wide selection of fine children's clothing, maternity clothes, shoes, extensive line of gifts, and Christening gowns and accessories.
They are located on 209? Freret St in downtown Morgan City.
Peace,
Nola

It's the perfect place for your swing set purchase if: 1) you want the playset to last more than 5 years like those metal ones, 2) you want your swing set to be more than just that, but a backyard adventure, and 3) you want the set to be safe and secure for all little hands and body parts.
Rainbow play allows creativity to begin while giving the child that necessary exercise and allows more than enough room for several children to play safely.
The sets are not cheap, but when it comes to your child's safety, cheap shouldn't be an option.
We have the clubhouse version from when i was younger and it's still going strong for my kid sister and any other kids that come behind her. Many options are available for different sets, and Rainbow play even offers the option of creating your own playset.

Peltier's Park definitely is 2 steps up from the park that was there when I was younger. With all new updated play equipment and pavillions, plus the basketball pavillion has been updated, it's a perfect place for family and friends to meet to spend a day at the park or perhaps even a birthday party. Each pavillion is furnished with picnic tables, bar-b-que pits and a large playground facility within eyeshot to watch those little ones.
Also each pavillion has outdoor restrooms which are cleaned throughout the day, even on the weekends when the rec center is closed.

I have had parties at the bowling alley several years in a row now for my birthday, yes I am 18, but I don't care. I don't go into bars, yet we want to get together with my friends. The bowling alley is a cheap place to spend time with my friends.
For a child's birthday party, they offer cosmic bowling (it's offered other times as well). At Creole Lanes each party is scheduled for 2 hours on the weekend, it can be at 1-3 on saturday or 3-5 on sunday.
Creole Lanes offers 44 lanes, so you can never have too many people attending the party and the lanes have automatic bumpers for those new to bowling, or like me with no bowling talents.
They open at 10 AM daily and are located on Tunnel Blvd right across from the mirrored Whitney Bank building.

My kid sister is just now starting to read at the age of 10 due to her disabilities. For the longest time she said reading would give her a headache, we are unsure if the stress of getting the words wrong was the cause or the simple fact that she was not remembering the words.
In either case, the child has now found out that reading isn't suppose to cause headaches and she is on fire.
She's reading all the easy readers Mom can find, but at 2.50 or more per book, Mom is going bankrupt fast. So Mom has been going back and forth between work and life to Bent Pages, buying the kid sister books at a discount, selling back the used books for instore credit, and everyone is happy. Best part of this, I don't have to hear Mom grip because she forgot to return the darn library books.
I have used Bent Pages for my required readings in school and the prices are like 50% or more off of the retail prices that the stores are charging. It's a great deal for everyone whether they are 2 or 102, if reading is thier game, Bent Pages is the place to be.
They are located on Barrow Street near the water processing plant.

The learning connection has been in Thibodaux for all of about 2 years now and it's been a longtime coming. To recieve tutorial services when I was younger Mom had to drive me to Houma, at least a 25 minute ride, or New Orleans, we won't go there.
I have a friend who's little brother attends the Learning Connection and while studying at her house the other day, I noticed the difference in the boy. He suffers from dyslexia which makes him aggravated when trying to read, in turn he acts out. The Learning Connection has been able to help him learn how to read, even with the dsylexia, and he's now reading his heart out. They offer tutoring with one on one assistance for grades from kindergarten thru college. I can't tell you the prices of anything they offer, but I can tell you about the results.
They also offer Academic evaluations and homeschooling assistance. When mom and I passed there the other day, I noticed where they are now offering CPR and first aid classes, not sure of the price or dates offered.
My school teacher said that the Learning Connection is also now offering birthday parties which she is considering using for her daughter's birthday. She's undecided if she wants to go with the princess parties, tea party, or a character party...once again I don't know the prices, but Ms. Adams said that she has attended one of thier parties and the party was excellent.
