Gateway Park has fields picnic facilities that are very nice, but it is also home to the "Fort Woof" Dog Park, which is awesome. I live in a duplex that does not have a fenced yard, so my dog spends most of his time cooped up in the house. The dog park has plenty of space for him to run around, as well as opportunities for him to meet other dogs, so he doesn't feel like so much of an "only child" all the time. The park is divided for separation of big dogs and little dogs if the owners don't want their little dogs (like mine) to be intimidated by the big dogs. It's a great (free!) activity for everyone.

You can get a relatively cheap ($20 or less), quality pedicure or manicure almost anywhere. At Nail Pro, they're more expensive ($25-$35), and they're not any better. In fact, the manicures and pedicures just don't last as long as they should. The employees are not very nice, nor is the man who owns it. Because pedicures and manicures are so accessible elsewhere, I suggest you skip Nail Pro.

The name is actually Asia Bowl and Grill, and it's fantastic. I stumbled upon it because I used to live nearby, but I keep driving over there even now that I live elsewhere. The food is awesome. They have all different kinds of Asian food: Chinese, Thai, Japanese, and even a little Vietnamese and Korean. Everything I've tried has been great. And the people who own and run it are extremely nice and helpful. They also deliver, which is a plus.

Let's face it; this is Kinkos' world, and we just live here. OK, I'm exaggerating, but the point is that so many industries are dominated by huge corporations that are getting larger by the day. The Printing Store is a nice, family-run operation that, while not as refined as Kinkos, certainly gets the job done. They're cheap to boot. I used to work with them a lot through my job, but since we expanded a little (i.e., got our own copier), we haven't been using them as much. I am probably going to get them to print my wedding invitations. They do it all, and they're very nice.

Fort Worth has many unique shops and boutiques that sell a wide range of gifts and other miscellaneous goods. I'm sure Earth Bones appeals to some, but it doesn't really appeal to me. They have a wide selection, but I find that the prices are rather high, and the staff at both locations could stand to be a little more helpful. Both times I've been there, it was to find a gift for my mom or someone like her, and I have been disappointed.

My boyfriend would spend all of his money at Competition if he could. He has purchased and traded all kinds of music equipment--guitars, drums, keyboards, microphones, a 4-track, amplifiers...the list goes on and on. The prices are really affordable, and you can always find something unexpected. In his case, he always finds something unexpected that he absolutely cannot live without.

The staff at Dr. Inman's office is just as pleasant and helpful as the doctor herself. I highly recommend heading to Dr. Inman for any medical need.

Zolon has really good food and a somewhat surprising cosmopolitan atmosphere. Most restaurants in downtown Fort Worth embrace their Texan-ness, but Zolon (like its sister restaurants Zoe and Angeluna) could have been swiped from a more urban setting (say Chicago or San Francisco).
They have amazing macaroni and cheese (really.) and I love this sauteed baby spinach with cheddar cheese and cayenne pepper side dish. It's a little in the expensive side, but worth it every once in a while. Lunch is relatively affordable.

What's more, in this age of debit cards, he won't run a card transaction for less than $11. I think that's ridiculous.

The food at Randall's is great. It's not too expensive, and it happens to be delicious. They have light choices, so you don't feel like you need a wheelbarrow to get you out of the restaurant when you're finished.
However, all of the times I've been there have been very disappointing, because the service is terrible. They seem to only have one waitperson, and she is either very apathetic or just rude. Normally I can ignore bad service if the food is great, but I can't abide service this bad. I probably won't go to Randall's again any time soon.
