Went to this new wine bar and cafe on Thursday and was disappointed with the food and prices. The wine selections were great - many from Greece, France, Italy and Spain. I was disappointed that many of the food options were out - we had the pizzetta (really good) and the antipasto plate (uneventful - I did really like the white aged cheddar, though). We had the fresh fruit for dessert, which was ok. All in all, I was happy with the wine choices, though many were over priced and satisfied with the food choices. I won't rush to go back there but I really hope that just being new is the reason why it's not up to par quite yet.

I've been to Old Krakow (West Portal near 19th) a couple of times now and have really enjoyed the food
and staff. I went with a party of 8 last weekend and had a great time.
The waiter, who knew a lot about the breweries brought about 10 different beers to the table and we sampled each. It was great because I got to taste so many different Polish and German beers that I normally don't get exposed to.
For the table, we ordered beet salad - loved it, beef tartar - pretty good and the herring appetizers- awesome, a little salty for my sensitive to salt taste buds. We also had a side of Polish Kielbasa - I'm really not into sausage but this was great.
I absolutely love their mushroom soup - you'll want a whole bowl because a cup isn't enough. The borscht -tasted like a great home cooked soup and the garlic soup - just that, great garlic soup.
For my main entrée I had Pierogi - cabbage & mushrooms, meat and cheese & potato. You can get a mix of all three of them, next time I would not order the cabbage (it was too similar to Sauerkraut, which I don't like) but the others were awesome! For all the food and drinks the bill came to $40 each and well worth it!

I've been seeing Cindy Icke for about 9 years now and I consider her one of my primary care providers. I dislike needles so that my hands sweat when she's putting them in but she has such great bedside manners that I get through it just fine. She's constantly wowing me with her broad range of knowledge on the body, nutrition, disease -she's one of those care providers that stays recent on studies, medical journals and health articles. She's helped me with allergies, pms/ cramps, insomnia, colds/ flu, muscle spasms and overall wellness. She also recommended me to a great OB/ GYN: Madeline Kahn (I couldn't get an appointment at the time until I dropped Cindy's name).

For my boyfriends birthday, I'm updating his speaker system in his car. Pretty cool girlfriend, huh? I've researched and visited several local speaker/ stereo stores. Normally, I would chose to go with the smaller mom and pop shack, but this time I didn't. The same set of speakers are $30-$50 cheaper at Circuit City and their installation is half as much as their competitors- I'm saving over $100 by going with C.C. The guys in the car stereo department were helpful and nice - not at all what I was expecting.

Part of being in a relationship is compromise, sometimes you eat at a place you don't like: my boyfriend likes this place, I do not. I won't compromise on this place. Their savory buckwheat Champignon/mushroom crepe was so horrible that I sent it back and got one just as bad- their mushrooms tasted like they came out of a can. Sorry, baby, not going back.

Zazie is one of my favorite breakfast/ brunch places in SF and I'm one picky girl! My requirements for great breakfasts: good egg dishes, thick bacon, crisp english muffins, awesome lattes and champagne... and Zazie fits that bill. They have a deck out back so if it's sunny, head there. Since a long wait is common on the weekend, I only go there during the week. I love their Eggs Fontainbleu, Eggs Pierre Noire, Ginger Pancake, BLT Provencale and their thick bacon! They serve great lattes and mimosas. The wait staff are good inconspicuous, yet attentive.

When my body is feeling tight and in need of some inexpensive pampering time, I head to Kabuki Springs & Spa. I use the communal bath on women's days: Wednesdays and Fridays :$20, heading there early so it's not too busy. They have great smelling shampoos, conditioners and soap, iced towels and cucumber water - what a treat! The Grounding treatment was delish that I was so zonked afterwards I took a nap in the locker room. My massage was one of the worst I've ever had - I asked to just have my upper back and neck worked on (he gave me a full body) and he irritated my shoulder knots by repeating his move about 20 times. For massage, I'll head somewhere else next time.
