I was already a big fan of the Woodland Park Zoo, but after attending a concert as part of their ZooTunes Concert Series, I love the place even more! With lots of grassy area for seating and food that is reasonably priced for a place of entertainment (come on, you know you've paid a lot more for a hot dog at Safeco Field...), it's a wonderful place to spend a summer evening. And even though the Woodland Park Zoo is located in the middle of the city for the most part, I have never had trouble finding parking. The musical acts that play the zoo are fun too! I saw the Decemberists, but I happen to know that Arlo Guthrie, Dar Williams, and Brandy Carlile also played the zoo this year.
Great time! Can't wait for the 2007 summer line-up!

I had a pretty nice experience at Madame K's! The service was great, the pesto pizza was tasty, and, even though it may have been a glorified cookie, the Big O dessert was delicious! I recommend sitting on the back patio - the garlic smell isn't as intense and you have a great view of Shilshole Ave (hey, who doesn't love to look at industrial Ballard?). It's definitely a great place to go with the gal pals. Oh, and get their sangria - it's fantastic!

I have been shopping at Buffalo Exchange for the last 6 years, and nearly I go I find something great! They carry such a wild variety of clothes, accessories, shoes, etc. - if you're into really creating your own look, this is the place to go! They play great music, and I've always found the staff to be very helpful. I love that they're open a little later on week nights (til 8 or 9), so it's the perfect place to go after work for some retail therapy.
Of course, since they have A LOT of stuff, it definitely takes some time to sort through everything there. But if you get a thrill from combing through clothing racks, you've got to check out Buffalo Exchange!
Oh, and the locations in Portland and San Francisco are just as fun!

Granted, that may not be saying much as radio quality has really taken a nose dive in recent years (if I have to hear Crocodile Rock one more time...).
However, KEXP is fantastic! The djs are so on top of it - they really play the best and most interesting up-and-coming music talents. John, Cheryl, and Kevin are awesome! I owe almost everything I know about quality music to the fine folks at KEXP.
Tune in! 90.3 FM Seattle

Wow, what a cool, cool place to spend those formative young adult years! I attended the University of Washington for my undergraduate studies and really had the time of my life! The campus is beautiful with it's collegiate gothic architecture, cherry trees, and cool views Mt. Rainier and Lake Washington / Portage Bay. The UDistrict is a busy area that has great shopping and even better food (Agua Verde - love it!).
The best part, of course, is campus life! There is so much diversity, so many interests and talents! This school offers study in nearly every subject imaginable! For a university of this size, the professors and TAs were always great about giving students the time and assistance they need.
I can't imagine having a more fulfilling college experience!

I recently visited Seven for the first time, and loved every part of the experience! The staff was very friendly and helpful! For a salon that is located downtown (or anywhere for that matter), I didn't find the people to be pretentious at all. The atmosphere is so lively and fun - they play great music!
The best part of the visit was meeting Anna! She did a fantastic job on my hair (and I am definitely a hard one to please when it comes to my hair). She gave me a cut that really flatters my face, and still took into consideration my thoughts and feelings about it.
Personally, I don't know anyone who has had a bad experience at Seven, and I can't wait to go back for my second cut! I highly recommend scheduling your next hair appointment at Seven!
