I really enjoy the food here. The problem I have with this restaurant is that the tables are set so close together it is impossible not to hear your neighbor's conversation, and on a busy weekend night the noise level is so high making it difficult to carry a normal conversation at your table.
The last time I was here, on Monday July 31st, my daughter and I were mostly ignored by the waitstaff--it was a very busy night, service was ridiculously slow and curt.
But the food here is great, fresh, and artfully presented. I recommend any seafood dish. If only it wasn't so claustrophobic, I would give it more stars!

HSS is by far the best surf shop in Southern California. I love the variety of merchandise and the friendly staff. You won't walk away empty handed--the selection of clothing is great.

We spend a few days every summer in Huntington Beach, for the U.S. Open of Surfing event. Matsu is by far our favorite HB restaurant, so relaxing and welcoming in atmosphere. The sushi presentation is beautiful, and the pina coladas are the best. The cozy booths are our favorite place just to sit and relax after a long day in the sun. Highly recommended.
