Maybe today was an off day for the K & R Pretzel Bakery. After seeing Cindy review come up almost everyday, I loaded my daughter in the car and off we went. The novelty of the hot pretzel coming off the conveyor belt is cool and the price is right (I got 6 for $3), but they didn't taste like anything spectacular to me. If anything they were very dough-ey tasting and kind of blah.
I also didn't see any other baked items offered. They had bagged popcorn and lots of old-school candies - candy buttons, gummy worms, NECCO wafers, strawberry licorice twists, fireballs, etc. But in my opinion, the pretzels were not so good. I'd rather drive to the outlet mall for a pretzel from Uncle Andy's!

I've been a loyal EPSON printer customer for years. So last night when my Stylus CX4600 pooped out I was extremely disappointed. I've only had the printer for about one year so it should be working fine. After at least 20 attempts to clean the print heads and nozzle checks I conclude that the printer is malfunctioning. After searching through my files for the receipt I of course cannot find the proper one. So I called EPSON's tech support number and they were able to look up all my info because I had registered the product. After a few minutes to troubleshooting, we determine that the printer has a "hardware malfunction." So they are sending me a brand new upgraded printer via FedEx. WAHOOO! I am so impressed with the service that I received. There was no hassle, no problems, no nothing. Just great customer service.

They have the best chips and salsa. The chips are always warm, fresh and light. And the salsa is good for folks like me who prefer not-so-hot-runny salsa. If you like thick, chunky salsa you will NOT be impressed. But if you like it runny more like taco sauce you'll be in heaven. Their empanadas are just okay, but their chicken enchiladas and fish tacos are awesome. I like Rubio's fish tacos, but the OTB ones rock. The corn tortillas are stuffed with crispy white fish and stuffed with cabbage and a chipotle sauce that's got a little kick to it. Yes, it's a chain but don't let that scare you away from some pretty darn good Mexican food.

C'mon y'all the breadsticks are awesome. Do you really need anything more in life than an amazing breadstick and the San Diego sunshine. Each time we get home (San Diego) for a visit Pat & Oscar's is on our must do list. The breadsticks are the best. We also love their chicken caesar salad and lemon chicken sandwich. We've never gotten sick. Their pizza, ribs and chicken are just okay. If you were to move to Ohio and didn't have the option to go there, you'd miss it. :-)

Oh the great joys of military life.... you find great places to eat and then Uncle Sam makes you move. Woodstock's is awesome. They are in a new spot that's much bigger than their old location. But it still has the same fun, college hang-out feel to it. Their crust is awesome, but the real reason to go to Woodstock's is their cinnamon dessert pizza. YUMMY! We sometimes used to go just for dessert. It's awesome. You should check it out!

We move every couple years. Finding a hair dresser is one of the biggest challenges to our lifestyle. Tavernier's is close to home and since they just moved into a brand new building I gave them a try. I went in blindly - brave, I know - and just asked for whoever was available to cut my hair. I was pleasantly surprised with the service and cut that I received. I've been back to the same girl several times and have been impressed. Their prices are reasonable to me - although my neighbors find them a bit pricey. I am used to California prices so I guess it just depends on what you are used to.
I've also gotten my eyebrows waxed several times. Again each time I just walk-in, so I see a different person each time. Everyone is friendly and willing to help. They offer hearty smiles and always offer a soda or water while you wait. It's a great comfortable place to go.

My mom was visiting from California so we wanted to take her someplace different. We decided on Max and Erma's, we had heard from friends that it was pretty good so we gave it a shot. I got a burger, my hubby got a HUGE chicken sandwich and my mom got a steak. All three entrées were pretty good. We had awesome service in the clean, fun setting.
We also got to sample their tortilla soup. What a great concept. Our server brought out three little ramekins of the soup for us to sample. It was a really nice touch. Often times you just want to taste something rather than spending a bunch of money on the whole entrée. So it was really nice to just get a sample. And yes, it was pretty good. But it was too hot outside for a big bowl of spicy soup.
They also have fresh baked cookies that are supposed to be awesome. We didn't try them, we are saving it for next time.
One other great thing, since it was our first time visiting, the manager came over, introduced himself and gave us a coupon for $5 off our next visit. Great bonus!

Everyone from Dayton that we've talked to (including reviews in the Dayton Daily News) says that Marion's is the best pizza in town. So we gathered six families from our street to go check it out. All six families agreed that this pizza was terrible. It's got a thin - cardboard tasting crust. The sauce had no flavor, neither did the pepperoni.
It's was fairly inexpensive so I suppose it's good for a little league team party. The kids would be too busy running around the large dining room and playing games to notice that the pizza was terrible.

We love pizza, so after asking several folks in town for their favorites and determining their idea of good pizza is completely different from ours, we ventured out on our own. Flying Pizza is good. It's not great knock-your-socks off pizza, but it's pretty good for Dayton. The crust is fabulous, think and flavorful. Their sauce is pretty darn good just the right amount of seasonings and spices.
However, we did NOT like their Sicilian Square pizza. The sauce on it is chock full of onions and garlic. YUK! It was too overpowering for my tastes. I couldn't taste anything but garlic and onions.
I also really like their calzones. Again the crust is awesome. I just had pepperoni and cheese, but loved it. There is no sauce in the calzone so if you like a big messy, sloppy calzone you will not like this one. But if you prefer bread and cheese (like me), you'll love it!

Please don't let anyone tell you that Young's Dairy has the best ice cream in town. Yes, Young's has the novelty aspect of the petting farm, but if you just want to taste good ice cream. Graeter's is the place the place to go. Their cookies and cream is to die for. Rich creamy vanilla ice cream with decent sized chunks of cookies. YUM! And the "chip" ice creams are awesome... chocolate chip, mint chocolate chip, mocha chip they have HUGE chunks of chocolate in them. You've got to try Graeter's!
