The Friendly Toast is such an interesting place. They have a crazy collection of campy 50s art that they regularly rotate in and out of the restaurant. Hanging all over the walls and ceiling, with interesting and unique lamps on every table. The menu is varied and full of excellent food, with lots of vegetarian items. The staff and the crowd consist of the highest concentration of emo fags, hipsters, sXe, scene, and other various freaks I've ever seen north of Manhattan. Their grilled cheese is amazing, as is anything with their homemade toast. It's literally... 3/4" thick per slice? Maybe an inch. A grilled cheese with cayenne cheddar toast is amazing. The best part of this restaurant is that they don't close Friday or Saturday night, so you can stop by anytime in the middle of the night on weekends.

I ate here once, but never again. Worst grilled cheese ever. Very limited, boring menu. Typical greasy spoon fare. If you like meat, potatoes, and white bread then Sporto's might be your thing. I got dragged there because of their chicken fingers, but I'm a vegetarian so I got a pathetic attempt at grilled cheese.

Harmony School is where the people I moved to Bloomington for went to school for the most part. Sending your kids here is basically like having them homeschooled. The classes of 1999 through 2002 turned out a lot of my best friends, and so many other characters with amazing personalities that I didn't really know well. If you're a hippie, environmentalist, liberal, punk, or anyone who doesn't buy into America's culture of bullshit, then this is the school to send your kids to. If you can't afford it there are scholarships available as well.

The MCPL is one of the finest libraries I've ever been to. I began my first date here in one of the movie booths. It's so enormous, the staff are friendly and helpful. If you consider the population it's meant to serve and compare that to a lot of libraries across the US that serve much larger populations, you might just be amazed.

I found it to be way too small of a store. Not only small because it doesn't have a large selection of toys and goods, but it's really cramped and there are always a lot of people inside. I ended up getting a really cool thick spiked collar, something I couldn't seem to find in New Hampshire anywhere. My friend got the biggest dildo I've ever seen.
This place was all young and hip and clean looking. Personally I prefer the dark, dingy, sticky perverted shops with a wider selection of products.

This is my favorite place to eat in Boston's Chinatown. The entire menu is vegetarian, yet when you open it up and look at it, almost all the dishes are pork, chicken, beef, or shrimp! However each of these labels are surrounded by quotation marks, and they're actually faux-meat made out of who knows what... gluten or TVP or tofu or some mixture. The faux-meat actually STRONGLY resembles the real deal in texture and color and shape. The flavor is deliciously vegetarian though. They even have faux-scallops, although that texture is off, they're unlike anything you've ever eaten before.
You must try out the coconut milk shakes too. They have a durian coconut milk shake! It's to die for if you like durian. (WARNING: Durian is illegal to carry in elevators in Thailand. It has a very strong odor, my friend said my durian shake smelled like gasoline. There's some sort of genetic predisposition to durian appreciation - if you like it, it doesn't smell too bad, otherwise it's noxious.)
This place is Boston's ultimate restaurant for vegetarians.

King of the Roll has the best sushi I've ever had. I don't eat sushi a lot, but I've had some outrageously expensive meals in NYC that did not compare to King of the Roll. I hear Portland's sushi scene is fantastic, and the other sushi places in town might be even better than this place, but I haven't tried any yet. The first time I saw this place I took a friend there for her birthday, because we were wandering Congress St. looking for a good place to eat and it had a sign saying "Best Sushi In The World!" or something. I was not disappointed.
Definitely try the seaweed salad too, but the sea urchin ain't too yummy in my opinion.

I've had a lot of bubble tea in Boston, NYC, and Lowell, MA and none were as good as you get here. Bubble Maineia has the best bubble tea in the northeastern United States. They're right next to the waterfront, have free wireless internet access, and a big stack of games like chess and chinese checkers to play. They also have pocky! Strawberry pocky! The only downside is that there's no bathroom, and if you ask they'll lead you down a series of long hallways below ground, and then you have to walk out a different door to the street to exit and come back around the front again.
