This gym is pretty standard fair for a 24-hour fitness. All the same equipement and personnel expectations. There are however, a couple of HUGE problems with this one: 1 can not believe how long this gym has been without its pool. It's been months! Second, there aren't enough of a variety of weight plates. I like to lift in small incremements when I lift heavy. For example, I'll attempt to bench 305 one week, then move to 310 two weeks later. It's almost impossible to find a 2 1/2 pound plate in this place! Also, someone keeps turing on the soap channel in the men's locker room. What's up with that? Several of us have requested CNN or ESPN, but somehow, it's always some soap. On the plus side, they have plenty of cardio equipment. You'll never wait for a treadmill or an elliptical machine.

After a night of drinking and partying at the Spectrum, it's always nice to hit the Del Taco drive thru. The cost per item is really cheap, and after using all your 10s and 20s on drinks, it's good to know you can still buy food for the left over change in your pocket; especially when it is 1 AM. My two favorite items are the Chicken soft taco and the del beef burrito. The chicken taco is a perfect blend of meat, cheese and sauce. The burrito is spicy and filling. You don't need anything else.

My geek friends and I always exchange Best Buy gift certificates for birthdays. That way, we can all shop there without our wives getting too mad. We have to use the gift certificates, after all!
Anyway, their DVD collection is fairly amazing, although, it's not a great place to buy older DVDs. Their prices are not the cheapest, but they can be reasonable.

I especially love their tour of Italy. All my favorite Italian dishes, on one plate. Of course, the meal is about 3000 calories, but it tastes fantastic. You'll certainly be full. Their salads and bread sticks taste the same every time I go there, and sometimes, my wife and I go there just for that. On the occasions where the bring back their all-you-can-eat pasta, I order that. The 4-cheese marinara is especially good.

This restaurant is fantastic. I dunno how authentic the food is, but the spices taste great and the food is seasoned just right. They have good mix of meat and veggie dishes and I just love the Mongolian beef. Their appetizers are good too. I especially love the dumplings and the egg rolls. I haven't exactly been impressed with their soups, though.

This supplement store is right next to the Aliso Viejo 24-hour fitness, which is good. This store has a large variety of protein powder... and pretty much ONLY protein powder, which can be bad. They have a few bars, but not much in the pre-mixed protein drink product line. I think they were also selling work out clothes the last time I was there, which I considered a complete waste of space. Apparently they also offer some nutrition consulting services, but their expert wasn't available while I was there.

They have a wide variety of vodka, and even carry Chopin. It gets busy at nights, so if you just want to eat and drink and NOT look for women/men, go at lunch.

My wife and I used to go here every year before we had kids. It was a wonderful way to spend a weekend, relaxing , eating good food, and for me, becoming a bit of a metro and hanging out in the spa. We'd get a couples massage and just have a great time unwinding. Their restaurants are amazing, with some knowledgeable wine stewards. Good for a pricey weekend getaway.
