PRINTS has been in Emeryville for at least 15 years. It is an accredited Montessori school that has bilingual education in either Japanese or Mandarin. They accept children as young as 18 mos. and go until 6th grade. One big plus is that they potty train your child -- kids aren't required to be potty trained when they start, but are required to be put into training pants when they start.
It is an excellent Montessori school that is small and dedicated to the students and families. Our sons have been in the school for 4 years and we plan on continuing there for years to come.

PRINTS has been in San Mateo since 1994 and in Emeryville longer. It is an accredited Montessori school that has bilingual education in either Japanese or Mandarin. They accept children as young as 18 mos. and go until middle school, although they have advertised they will be starting a high school in 2008. One big plus is that they potty train your child -- kids aren't required to be potty trained when they start, but are required to be put into training pants when they start.
It is an excellent Montessori school that is small and dedicated to the students and families. The Japanese program is excellent and has wonderful, caring teachers. Our sons have been in the school for 4 years and we plan on continuing there for years to come.

My mother got my wife a gift certificate here a couple of years ago. It was a nice place, with some interesting amenitites. You can get a massage with a bath -- you sit in a Japanese bath and the masseur comes in and washes you (a bit weird) and then a typical massage. The setting is nice and the people are great. The only weird thing is the bath, but if you can get past that, it's great.

We bought our car from Menlo Honda so it seemed appropriate to go there for service, but they have been really good so far. Sure you feel a bit taken advantage of when you come in for routine maintenance and they try and get you to get all these extra services, but when you need them, they are there. My wife had an "emergency" where she couldn't get the alarm (that factory installed panic button where the horn keeps honking) to go off, she just drove to the dealer and they helped her right away. Today we stopped in because the idling seemed low and they looked at it and determined it was fine, free of charge. We will definitely be continuing to use Menlo Honda.

These paintings are so reminiscent of the '60s and I think it's really odd that they still have a gallery in San Francisco dedicated to them, but they are still just as moving 40+ years later. The gallery is nice enough to aim a few outside so that everyone walking through the Financial District of S.F. can enjoy these kitschy items.

When they were starting the Haight store they were better about accepting used CDs but now they are incredibly picky about what they will take. They either don't take it or give you very little money for what they do accept, and on top of that, they are likely to give you an attitude about whatever they do take. And if you go on a weekend you get to wait in line for the privilege of being harassed by them.

My coworkers and I go here once every couple of weeks, when we get bored of Tokyo Star. They have good sushi and good service. We enjoy the lunch combinations. The owners are Korean and they serve some non-sushi foods that have more of a Korean influence. Definitely something to look for when you're in San Carlos.
