My wife is a fan of this mini-chain and has taken us here a few times. Unlike some tea places, you can come anytime between 11 and 4 to have tea and get a seat. It is a nice little location that has its busy times but you can usually walk in and get a seat. Their tea is more like a full lunch, and is set up in an atmosphere that feels like an event -- great for birthdays, lunches, etc. My mom is allergic to dairy and they were very accomodating with her food and even had a dessert she could eat -- peach sorbet served in a peach with non-dairy whipped topping. We have been very happy with the service, atmosphere and food. If you're looking for something a bit more Northern, the Menlo Park location is owned by the same people.

This has been upgraded into a really nice mid-range mall. They remodeled recently, adding a large koi/turtle pond in the middle which is really tranquil and my kids love to watch the animals. The Target is really convenient and we have been going to the Marie Callender's there for years. They continue to get new stores that are similar -- Forever 21, Charlotte Russe, etc. The food court leaves a bit to be desired, but they have a couple of restaurants (M.C. and The Elephant Bar) and a Taco Bell, McDonald's and Burger King inside.

My son just went to his third party at Daly City Party Playhouse and loved it! The large room is an inflated looking castle (like the play areas in McDonald's), with a smaller area (mostly a ball pit) for the younger kids. You *have* to have socks, but fear not, if you forget yours they will sell you a pair for $3. They have a nice waiting area for adults with couches and magazines too. After the party you have pizza and cake in the back, and then they have an arcade that you can play Chuck E. Cheese style games and get tickets for prizes. The games are expensive though -- 2 tokens or 50 cents for each game. They also open for the public during the week for $5 a kid (per hour?). Great fun!

I love Westside Cafe. We used to go for lunch at work, but now I meet all my East Bay friends there for brunch. They have a great selection of breakfast items and some great specials. My favorite is the blueberry/banana pancake. You can get just one pancake if you like, which is plate sized. They also serve masa which is polenta like with their breakfast foods, which is great. The service is really good too. My wife broke a glass there once and they replaced the glass and her food just in case there was any glass in it. To be expected, I'm sure, but they were very accomodating.

This is a nice Double Rainbow location. It is pretty large and serves sandwiches as well as ice cream and other desserts. The staff is good as well. I like their hot fudge sundae because the hot fudge they use is excellent, and of course they use their Double Rainbow ice cream which is also excellent.

We're always driving by so I was interested in trying this place. The pizza was okay but I didn't like it well enough that I would make an effort to come in again.

This is a really fun and interesting restaurant. They have outside seating which is nice because of the location. I usually get hte toasted ham and cheese sandwich which includes their special salad. I used to go with coworkers and this was our favorite "eat out" restaurant. A nice location with good food.

This is the corporate office of the company that makes the Leap Pads and other frog-based kids toys. We have bought pretty much every iteration of the Leap Pad and really enjoyed them. The other toys are fun too, with their cute frog characters. They are good toys for learning the alphabet, numbers, reading and math for younger kids.

The temporary location of the museum is not quite as nice as the original location was, but they still have their collection of fish and other smaller animals. The rotating exhibits have been interesting -- they started with an exhibit on ants and recently had an exhibit on different types of chocolate! The new location is convenient but we can't wait for them to move back into their permanent location at Golden Gate Park.
