My wife went to CBGBs years ago, maybe 15 and it was really fun. She went through the CMJ conference and saw one of the bands they had there (obviously nothing as exciting as started there, like Blondie!). It was a great venue and will be sorely missed!
The last time we went to NYC was the summer of 2001 and we were actually in the World Trade Center but didn't go up because it was $18 a person. We should have gone there and obviously should have made an effort to go to CBGBs too! What sad news!

I didn't like the pizza so I bowed out of the talk as well. I know it is very popular pizza, but I don't get it. It just seemed like pizza to me, and just okay pizza at that.

We used to go to Applebee's a lot years ago and haven't gone in awhile so we decided to try it for lunch today. Their recent claim to fame is having the Weight Watchers associated menu items so I wanted to try them out. I didn't end up getting one, since they didn't sound too exciting (mostly fish/shrimp). Even the WW desserts weren't too exciting, but I don't like chocolate mixed with raspberry or I would have tried the chocolate cake. The normal desserts didn't look all that great either. It was a good experience but the food wasn't good enough for me to want to go back.

We just went to a birthday party here and the kids had a lot of fun. They say that 24 mos. and under are "free" in that they don't count for the headcount that you pay for and I could see why. It is definitely a place for 3 and up, in fact my three 1/2 year old had some trouble doing all the climbing required. The staff is consciencious and very helpful. I would definitely recommend this for a party.

This is the best Vegas hotel. If you can afford it, you have to come. It is so luxurious. They have a really nice spa, pool, and even lobby area. Their buffet is the best on the strip (for lunch and dinner - for breakfast it is the Paris Hotel). All in all a very extravagant, fun, great hotel to visit or stay in.

We've stayed at Paris Las Vegas many times. It is our favorite hotel/resort to stay at. The theme is really fun, and they have the best bakeries (obviously!), and buffets. They have a really good breakfast buffet with crepes and French pastries. Their slots are of course fun to visit! The rooms are luxurious and the spa is extravagant and relaxing.

We've had a couple of family reunions here and the staff is really good and accomodating, but the food is just okay. My wife got a tuna salad that was a salad with tuna on top and smothered in dressing. Their pasta is really standard Italian. The place is fine but we keep hoping to go to a nicer place or one with more exciting food next time.

I got a cinnamon roll like I usually do, and it was easily 1/3 larger than the cinnamon rolls you usually get at a donut store. And so fresh and delicious! Oh, and great service. I'll definitely be going back.

My wife has a collection of watches that have dead batteries so I was sent to fix them or get them fixed. Since I don't want to hurt them I decided to get a professional. Malik's is a great place to get watch batteries replaced and it is in a convenient location in Stonetown Mall. It cost between 8.50 and 10.00 per watch and was well worth it. They did it while I waited.
