I am surprised that no one has reviewed Manna Mills yet.
I don't recall exactly when I discovered Manna Mills but it was back in the day when I was fairly young. Ever since my first visit, I have been in love. As a matter of fact, Manna Mills probably has a lot to do with my love of and interest in natural and organic products.
Manna Mills always has all the best natural drug store items, an ever expanding organic product section with usually better prices than the organic section of a regular grocery store. They have a lot of bulk grains, cereals, sugars, flours and more that you just don't find in your typical grocery store.
I always find something interesting when I am in there. If you like organic candy, they have a large selection of this and other snack foods that aren't so bad for you.
Raw honey? They have it...and at good prices AND in a variety of different styles. Just a lot of good natural items at decent prices.

My husband and I have been going to O'Houlies Pub for the last several years. We are big karaoke freaks (not big drinkers) so we only go sometime during the Thursday through Sunday karaoke run.
Deanna, the karaoke hostess is great! She has an amazing voice, knows how to keep the line straight, is friendly and just all around good fun. The ambiance has changed a bit since they expanded the bar. The regulars aren't quite so regular anymore as there has been an influx of newer, younger blood but they do still come around.
Pool tables can be hard to get because they are usually full. The staff is usually pretty good although sometimes you gotta wonder what's going on in their heads.
I have been to more spectacular bars with bigger karaoke menus, bigger speaker systems, etc...but Deanna keeps me coming back to O'Houlies because she makes it feel like home.

When my husband and I were first dating, he bought me a sterling silver bat necklace from Gargoyles. I have always loved that shop and every year that we have been married (our anniversary is Halloween of course!) and every Valentine's Day he has bought me a black leather rose from Gargoyles as well. It is spooky and fun...I love the way the floor is dusty, windswept looking. The folks who work there are great and you can find many, many interesting items that you cannot find just anywhere.
If you want unique home decor, Gargoyles is the place to look.

My husband loves Dick's...so much so that he has even been guilty of considering it somewhere 'special' to take me on a 'special' night out...while in general, I don't think of myself as super high maintenance (ok, maybe just medium level high maintenance>.<), Dick's just doesn't rank high on my list of places to go. The fries are squishy, there is nothing fantastic about the burgers and while they are individually cheap, if you tried to get an entire meal, it would probably cost more than McDonalds. At least that was my impression the last time I was there. I know it's an icon and for that reason alone I won't downgrade it entirely but if it were a new joint opening in this day and age, it would *hopefully* be expected to be better. So while I smile and try to pretend that I am okay with going to Dick's ever so often for my hubby's sake, it isn't anywhere I would choose to go on my own.
Ok...go ahead and start throughing the stones, I can take it >.<

I have been going to Edmonds Eyecare for years but it all started way back in the day when I first met Gary at Western Optical. He was and is amazing! I have always had great care at Edmonds Eyecare but finding that Gary had moved over there (he's one of the highly trained eyeglass fitting guys), it made Edmonds even more appealing. The doctors are great, scheduling is perfect, they are timely and have good prices as well. What's not to love?

I have had both the experience of taking my children there a few times and the privilege of doing part of my externship there as a pharmacy technician.
When I took my brand new baby there, the doctors worked diligently at figuring out what was wrong with her, she is now a happy, healthy 10 year old:)
When I worked for Children's I found many caring staff that were very dedicated to the job they did. It was common place to find a child who had the misfortune to have to practically live at Children's, playing at the nurses station or making Jello with a nurse. And when one of these children passed away, the sadness was palpable throughout the entire staff.
I hate that we need hospitals but I am grateful that there are hospitals like Children's that really care about the needs of the patients and families as much as they are able.

That is an interesting comment...why do you think that they aren't good for you?
I am a licensed esthetician and after a lot of study, I can say pretty wholeheartedly that facials are very, very good for you. The reason most people break out after is because the facial releases impurities trapped under dead skin on the surface but this by no means makes the facial 'not good for you.' With regular facials (once every month or so), and good at home care, you can expect to see the 'after facial breakouts' pretty much quit and your skin will start to look good more of the time than it did before you started having regular appointments.
On another note, I haven't been to Skinlogic but I have met the president on a few occasions, he is very nice and I have heard many good things about the company itself. Scott said that Skinlogic's focus is strictly clinical skin care with no frills and not a 'spa.' Just a great place to get a great facial.
Kudos Scott!

I agree that Kings III is pretty good and since China Passage left, there isn't much left in Mountlake anymore for Asian food.

Everytime I go to Saltoro's I am pleasantly surprised. My husband and I went there one time just to see what it was about having seen it 8 bajillion times on our way home. The menu is fairly simple...maybe that is the wrong word. It isn't terribly convoluted but the offerings are delicious with unique ingredients prepared in imaginitive ways without being scary (holothuroidea pickled then deep fried briefly in pistachio oil fragranced with jasmine flowers, topped with dried fruit compote, crumbled Brazilian peanuts and a slight sprinkling of pomegranite seeds anyone?)
At the end of our delightful dinner we ordered dessert. I am not a big chocolate person...more of a fruity girl so I ordered the cherry clafoutti and my husband ordered the chocolate cake. The clafoutti was delicious BUT when I tasted a bite of my husband's choco cake, I thought I must have died and gone to heaven. Delicate yet dense, tender and light as air but substatial. A heavenly chocoate flavor...amazing! Friendly staff and fast service in an attractively casual yet ambient atmosphere make for a lovely evening. We have taken friends there since and they loved it too!
Saltoro's rocks!
