I like Ed Wyse Beauty Supply. It usually has the essentials I need for my business. I wish that they carried a few more of the things I use but compared to most so-called beauty supply places that don't even carry cotton rounds, I have no real complaints.
The staff is always nice and willing to look up prices or help in any way they can. They often have good sales on equipment although I think their prices in general are pretty high (for equipment only).
They have a ton of hair and nail products but alas, I am neither cosmetologist nor manicurist. Just your everyday fabulous esthetician>.<

I love Fred Meyers too. I have lived in this area my entire life aside from a stint in Panama and Colorado. I have seen all the changes FM has gone through and it just keeps getting better. In a hurry? Stop by and pick up some groceries, socks, deodorant, Cinnamon Buns, coffee AND a pretty decent outfit for your child all at the same place. It isn't super fancy but they have a nice grocery with a small but decent selection of organic products, a nice health food section with a lot of good products and good sales from time to time.
Definitely worth checking out!

I just got back from taking three of my daughters to Cousins Hair Design in Mountlake Terrace and WOW! They all look like rock stars! My oldest likes things funky so rich, glossy black with pink highlights reigned supreme. My middle daughter wanted to lighten up and look gorgeous so she had some highlights put in and layers added that really provided a lot of good movement to her style. She couldn't quit looking in the mirror! My next younger daughter would only say that she wanted 'v's' cut into her hair and bangs >.< That's a little hard to interpret but Liz did a great job and made her look amazing.
I would highly recommend Liz but from what I could see from the other stylists, I think they would all be a good bet.
Liz rocks, Cousins rocks and conveniently located between Everett and Seattle, definitely check them out!

I keep forgetting that I have a gift certificate for there that I need to use>.<
Another nice thing about the Red Garnet staff...when they are out of something or they know you are on the lookout for something specific that they don't have in stock, they will put you on a call list...many, many places will do this...the hitch? They don't usually call you back...well, Red Garnet DOES!

I have to start off by saying that I have had a lot of really good life experiences at Mr. Bill's...don't ask me why, I don't know...it has just worked out that way.
It's a place that I have met a lot of friends, both good and bad. Lots of good memories.
There are a lot of things to choose from on the menu and most are pretty good. I can't remember ever having a really bad meal there although I have had horrifying service there a time or two. I have had great service too so it's definitely a mixed bag.
I love the breakfasts there although they are definitely greasy spoon. The taquito things are good and I am glad that they quit calling them whatever it is that they initially called them because they were always having to explain that they were really taquito type things>.<
It's a good place to go for burger and fries type meals as long as you aren't in a hurry and the meal isn't something where you are trying to impress.

I am never sure what I think of Ruby's which probably isn't a good thing. As Heather said, it isn't 'bad'...it really is okay but there are better things in Alderwood. I was just at Ruby's today (hence my review). It was the first time is quite awhile but things are just how they have always been. The service was very good and I wish I could remember our server's name so that I could mention her here. She was perfect. Very attentive but not so much that she was annoying. Just right...ah! Here name was Bridget, I believe! So kudos Bridget!
The food was good...I had the Hickory Burger with onion rings. I usually get the Asian salad. I guess the trouble is, I can never find anything that really jumps out at me. When I go to Mr. Bill's (another old style diner) I can always find a million things I am interested in and Ruby's just doesn't hit me that way.
So call it mediocre but Bridget rocked!

Yes, I truly do and ever since marrying my husband, it would seem that the universe is out to teach me that sandwiches are a good thing...not something to turn your nose up at...loath...despise.
I have suffered through many nasty renditions of things casually labeled 'sandwich' and here and there, I have been exposed to really delicious morsels straight from sandwich heaven.
One such experience came just recently. I was at work and one of the massage therapists here came in with a hot sandwich that smelled so good it made me feel faint. I couldn't believe that a sandwich could smell so yummy!
I need to make one more comment...I do make sandwiches at home because my husband loves them so much but my own creations are just that..my own creations and I love them very much. I have only had two notably good outside sandwich experiences and only in the last year or so.
Anyways...back to the amazing sandwich smell. It was absolutely mouth watering and if I had some money on me at the time, I would have run right out and got one.
I was told that this particular sandwich came from a little sandwich counter right down the street called Mike's East Coast Sandwiches. I believe she had the Hot Pastrami but I am not totally sure about that.
The next week another massage therapist here decided to go to Mike's and asked me if I wanted anything. She pulled out the menu and it was daunting making up my mind as there are so many good sounding choices.
The place was a little hard to find so it took her awhile to come back with our food. I hadn't been able to make up my mind so I gave her two choices and asked her to choose between them and surprise me.
She came back with the #27 Tapenade and OMG, I was not disappointed! This sandwich is a vegetarian version and so good I felt like licking the paper it came wrapped in! Kelly said hers was excellent as well. The Tapenade come with (sort of a given) olive tapenade, feta cheese, roma tomato, basil, mixed greens and balsamic vinaigrette on a panino roll. Fresh, high quality ingredients make for a very tasty sandwich.
The prices are reasonable, about $5.90 each, portions are filling and each comes with a dill pickle stick.
I just met Mike the other day and he is very nice as well. Like I said, the place is a little bit hard to find because it is located at the Belle Harbour Café and these are the signs you are most likely to see from the street. It is on Cedar Street between 2nd and 1st by a Nail Salon place.
There is free local delivery available mon-sat 11-3 pm.
I would HIGHLY recommend trying Mike's out if you like sandwiches...or frankly...even if you don't:)
I have had 'gourmet' sandwiches from a variety of places and never felt that any of them remotely came up to what I could create at home...until Mike's that is.
Kudos Mike!

My husband and I used to go to Thai Rama all the time because I worked in Canyon Park. It made a very convenient lunch or dinner date on busy days.
We love Thai food and we love trying out new places, Thai Rama was one that was consistently wonderful. Very nice and attentive staff and absolutely delicious!
This is the only place we have been able to find that served the regular yummy Thai iced tea with the jumbo tapioca in it. Nothing like the fruit smoothies labeled 'bubble tea' you find everywhere. I think they did quit doing that but it was good while it lasted.
I miss going there and would say, if you are in the area...check Thai Rama out!

I was just in there the other day and while I did not end up buying from them, the salesman was excellent. No pressure, knowledgeable and cute too! What's not to like? hehe Ok...getting a little silly today but seriously...my overall experience has been good at Conklin's. They usually have great prices and a large selection. They can also usually order bits and parts of existing appliances.
