My entire family loves this place, especially me and my husband. We are big Halloween people so we are always excited to see what D&C has in stock.
Rows upon rows of costumes...some simple, many ornate as well as all the trimmings you could possibly need. A fairly big selection of tiaras for pageants or fairy princesses, wigs and masks galore...all the make up for any skill level including professional. They also carry fabric, notions and trim for making your own costumes. Have an urge to experiment with full body latex painting? This is the place to get your liquid latex! House wares and decorations, favors, ideas and books and much more.
I love it, love it, love it!
They have items for all the holidays too, not just Halloween so check them out for all your fun party ideas!

I have craft projects stacked up to the ceiling...jewelry making, wool felting, crocheting, handmade gift cards, soap making, bath bomb making, custom perfuming, custom basket design and on and on it goes...Now I can't really get all the supplies for these various projects at Michael's but I can for some of them and I appreciate not having to drive all over the world for the items I need.
They are also a great source for seasonal projects and cheap decorations, lighting etc...
It's a lot of fun to snoop around and you can find some surprisingly good deals on different supplies.
I love Michael's!

My husband and I ate there once and the food was wonderful. We would definitely go there again but the atmosphere was a little odd. I can't quite put my finger on it...the staff were friendly if a little slow, everything was nicely appointed. I think it may have been the layout of the restaurant but the food was delicious and definitely worth checking out.

My husband and I are eldergoths from way back...while my past is a bit more checkered (punky New Wavish vampy turned more solidly goth BUT damned if my pink, sparkly side still comes bursting forth ever so often), my man has been pretty solidly goth since he was a young teen.
Between the two of us, we have 5 daughters >.< Our eldest is a gorgeous goth girl and who knows where our youngers will come out.
I know that a lot of gothy types roll their eyes are Hot Topic calling down thunder and lighting to avenge it's corporate greed BUT we live a geographically short but traffically long distance from the great alternative Seattle shopping scene so when my daughter wants to add something to her clothing collection that she can't raid from my closet, Hot Topic usually has what she is looking for.
Strangely enough, I have also gotten some really cute, comfortable shoes there on a number of occasions. I get more compliments on my shoes from HT than I do when I buy them from Nordstrom's!
I have never had any trouble with the staff and have met some seriously helpful, attentive kids there with better service skills than the bigger department stores. It can be crowded and uber busy but we have never been left hanging.
While I may prefer the selection at other, more exclusive alternative clothing shops, I am glad we have a local Hot Topic.

It's been a little while since I have been in Wight's but it has always been a favorite of mine ever since my Grandmother took me there for the first time as a little girl. It is arranged in a circular pattern and might appear a little bit crowded although I don't feel that it really is once you start shopping. They have a complete nursery with many interesting garden accents as well as plants to fill them. They have many fun, collectible type gifts as well as cards and wrapping for them. A full florist shop is available as well as decorating services.
Each year at Christmas time, Wight's becomes a fantasy of ornate Christmas trees decorated in every conceivable fashion. I always love to take my children to see the trees then.
Wight's is a a great place for gifts, for the gardener or just to snoop around.

I have lived in Mountlake Terrace most of my life. The store that is Roger's has gone through several changes over the years and probably several owners but I can't say that for sure:)
I like Roger's. It isn't spectacular and it is old but you can get pretty much everything you need there and they often have really great sales and general prices.
I know over the last few years my mother has become a real devotee of Roger's because they have expanded their product section and added a nice organic section here more recently.
The staff has always been pleasant and helpful. It isn't a big WOW but then, does grocery shopping really need to be? :)

I LOVE Village Market Thriftway!
It is a little bit more expensive than the competitors around but they also offer a large selection of natural and organic produce and other grocery items.
They have a great cheese and olive bar, a well stocked and more upscale deli than most, a gorgeous fresh meats and seafoods department (especially considering the size of the store) plus everything else that one looks for when they are shopping in general. They have unique sundries, a decent wine and beer selection, lots of gift wrapping ideas and wares. Just a lot of eye catching, cool things in one place.
The staff is always friendly and when they have free food samples at the deli or fresh meats section, the samples are interesting things like coconut shrimp instead of cut up Hot Pockets or burrito bites>.<
What impresses me most is that they truly seem to have an equal or greater representation of organic, natural and whole foods than most places. The mainstream 'norm' isn't at Thriftway. You can buy unsulphered coconut shreds, candied rose petals and violets, gourmet salts from all around the world and many other unique items along with the regular toilet paper.
I could go on and on but I love this store!

I have had several cell phone carriers and I must say that Sprint by FAR has been the absolute worst!
I am not sure what the problem is but with every single bill (with the exception of 2!) we have had to go in and have them adjust the bill for literally hundreds of dollars! My husband's phone, when you click to go to his voice mail, takes you to the wrong phone number (it is programmed in and one of the numbers is transposed). We have strange random things billed to us almost every single month and on two different occasions it has totaled hundreds of dollars. On the last one, they would only refund $50 of about $200 and not a single one of us on our family plan bought or used any of the things that were on there. We still have a year to go and I am feeling a bit sorry for myself.
My husband now works for another cell phone company and we will be getting new phones through there soon but of course, we will have to pay to break our contract although personally, I would think that since they have almost never gotten a single bill correct for us it might be said that they broke their contract with us a long time ago. I imagine it doesn't work that way so whatever.
Anyways...I have not been impressed at all. I can deal with a few mistakes but this has been utterly colossal.

Happy Teriyaki isn't fancy, creative or even great...It has no ambiance to speak of but it is good. Actually, they have some pretty darn good pot stickers..light and very crisp without all the heavy oil that usually goes along with the tasty little dumplings.
I have been to Happy Teriyaki on about 4 occasions and I would never say that I was disappointed, it just isn't fabulous but if you would like cheap, good and filling...Happy Teriyaki is a good choice.

My baby daughter is starting ballet very soon so we went out to buy her little leotard and tights. After seeing Petticoat Junction on Hwy 99 for my entire life, it was the first place I thought of for my daughter's dance needs. Having never been in the shop, I was thrilled to find it cram packed with dancing garments of all kinds. I was greeted promptly and found exactly what I wanted right away. The staff was very friendly and appropriately attentive. Their prices are a little high compared to what I could find for the same garment online (same brand etc...) but overall, it was still a pleasure to check them out. It also saved me the worry of not getting the clothing in the mail on time.
I would love to go digging through the entire store sometime. It would be a lot of fun! Petticoat Junction is a charming shop with lots to offer!
