For a person who's new year resolution was: eat more fruits and vegetables, PCC was the answer. I can not go wrong purchasing ANY fruit (or produce) from them. Their produce is the tops - comparable to purchasing directly from the source. Which was their goal to begin with. I have been going there for at least 8 years now and I haven't found a bad apple yet...
As for location, there is one in Fremont, Aurora and Issaquah off the top of my head. Fremont is my favorite. The strategic placement of the products enhance the movement/flow of people coming through that store. By the way, PCC has a coupon or two in the Chinook Book.

Sip and ship has great seating upstairs in this loft style coffee shop. They have a unique niche in Seattle's saturated coffee market: offer a lounge with space for kids to play!
In the main floor, they sell stationery and trendy tchotchkes, as well as the shipping station. Foodwise, they offer a limited variety of paninis, muffins, cookies. Enough for a light lunch/snack.
Upstairs, away from the main throroughfare, is a quiet lounge with toys and books for the kids. But be forewarned, it gets crowded when a group of parents meet for a playdate.

Whether expecting or recovering, I highly recommend the Seattle Holistic Center.
Prenatal: If you are pregnant and located near Wallingford or Greenlake, check out Collette's Prenatal Yoga class. I give them credit for preparing both my mind and body for delivery.
I had days when I thought I had it bad. Then class starts, everybody introduces themselves and shares their ailments (so that it can be addressed in class). Suddenly my aching hip sounds minute compared to Jane who just got back from a month of bed rest! Puts everything in perspective.
I always walked out feeling relieved that I was not the only hormonal person in town!
Postnatal: If you have a crawler/toddler, you can take them to Yoga class! This is the only place that I know that has a parent/toddler yoga class.
With a kid friendly atmosphere, go strengthen your back, calm your nerves and meet great down to earth people. This is a drop-in class. At $16 a class, it is money well spent for my sanity.

Kayak about Lake Washington for awhile. The trip there is fun, it gets very rough around the Montlake Cut. Check out Bill G's house from a distance. If you want a smoother ride, you can paddle around underneath 520.
When done, grab some Mexican grub at Agua Verde and check out their huge selection of margaritas!!!

There were sea otters that swam within 50 feet of the shore last time I was there. I hope they didn't bother anyone and thus be forced to move. I enjoyed hearing them and see them play on the water to show off.
There is a bath house here which can be rented for events. I saw a wedding take place outside by the wooden area. With proper framing, it looks gorgeous and private.
Amplified music is not allowed. With that it's nice to hear the sounds of people playing beach volleyball, the kids playing in the playground nearby. Different groups of the population are here depending on the time of day. If you go in the evening, plenty of 20-30 somethings abound.
Anytime of the year, you get an amazing view of the Olympics in the horizon. On certain times, you can see the snow-caps of Mount Olympus in the background. In the foreground, you see the Puget Sound and occasional wind surfers. Other times you might catch a glimpse of the resident J or K pods (Orcas).
There are hiking trails and 2 different dog runs. In the north-end is a nature reserve where you can visit the ducks. There is a large field for kite flying and occasional pick-up games of Ultimate Frisbee. To the east, the BNSF train whizzes by.
All this and 15 minutes from downtown! Take 85th St. exit of I-5 and drive west until you get to the water.

REI is well known for their one stop shop for all your outdoor needs. But the flagship store is still by far the best. Before even coming into the store, you would walk past the outdoor bike trail where you can road test your gear prior to purchase. This store has a waterfall, an outdoor climbing wall, a hiking terrains up by the shoes and now they just completed the kids play area! What fun. There is a tree house now in the second level and a slide which I've taken down. You really pick-up speed going down!
It's just fun going to REI, it is an experience. The staff are knowledgeable and helpful. They have an excellent return policy. When you order from www.rei-outlet.com and choose in-store pick-up, you avoid the shipping (fee).

Introduced to this chicken through our company catered luncheon, I've been hooked ever since! This is an old local establishment well known for their chicken. So good, it took me 45 minutes driving to MLK to Jefferson and 23rd to find it. They are across Jefferson High School. It was well worth it.
Expect casual take-out foodfare. Don't forget the sweet potato pie. Yummm...

The Museum of Glass ( http://www.museumofglass.org ) is architecturally striking. It is beautiful, located by the Foss waterway, and linked to the Tacoma History Museum and Tacoma downtown attractions via a bridge. Not just any bridge mind you, but a bridge that allows you to walk and be surrounded by Dale Chihuly's fine works of art.
Believe it or not, I took my toddler to "a" glass museum several times. This place is so visually stimulating. It's amazing how much work is needed to create such a beautiful work of art with striking colors and balance.
First, outside: There are open spaces for the kids and adults to run around in. There are outdoor exhibits certain times of the year.
Don't forget to take a camera. During our summer days, photos against the clear blue skies come out really bold.
I've already mentioned the bridge. Note that you'll see more of Dale's work on this bridge that you will inside.
Second, Inside: The museum itself isn't very big. So you can cover it 2 hours easily. They allowed me to take the stroller inside (unlike Seattle Art Musum). There are 3 main attractions:
1) FEEL: The hot house: Learn about glass making in action
2) SEE: Visiting artists work exhibited
3) CREATE: The craft room: create your own works of art using the techniques used by the visiting artist.
In conclusion, this museum is well worth the visit. My toddler and I both learned something and had a craft as a souvenir. My husband came away with great photos. Go during the third Thursday of the month from 5-8pm for free admission.

PRO:
Location. It's conveniently located off I-90 and I-405. Park by Mervyn's.
They are inside the Factoria Mall, which has Old Navy and Target, so, Moms can leave the kids with Dad for awhile and get some alone time. Or, do a one time stop, shop, eat and play all without hopping back on the minivan!
Science. I like the water area for the kids. Reminiscent of the stuff covered at the Pacific Science Center, you get both attractions covered in one place.
CON:
At first, I thought paying $6 for kids (1+) in addition to adult admission ($6) was too much, but compared to Children's Museum of Seattle ($7.50 kids 1+ and adults), I guess the admission is somewhat fair. But, it feels like you are getting half the attractions. I would look out for a coupon. I've seen it in a publication somewhere.
I commented on the nice location, well the downside is SPACE, it felt cramped in there. For going on a weekday, it was way crowded!
I did not have a good experience because I felt I was on top of the other people. BUT, I would go and give it a second chance - not totally rule it out. Go on a Friday between 5-8pm when it's free admission! ( http://www.kidsquestmuseum.org )

The staff are very knowledgeable, helpful and patient. One time I drove 25 minutes out of my way to a chain hardware store because I knew they were open on Sunday, only to leave tired and dissatisfied. I then went to TRM, found out they've been open since 8am, and was able to walk out with all the items that I needed for my project! Why did I waste all that gas? I'm still kicking myself for doubting TRM...
