Asqew Grill uses a different perspective on bbq. Pricewise, menu items are under $10. It is a casual eatery but they have great, almost gourmet ingredients and menu items. When I went, I had the mango lime mahi-mahi. Other menu items include salmon, ginger basil lamb, portabella mushroom, yummmm....I went to their location in the Marina District on Steiner and Chestnut. There are 3 other locations, in the Haight, Castro, Bay Street. ( http://www.asqewgrill.com ).

This is a great little teriyaki joint in the Lake Wilderness Shopping Center off I-169. The facility is clean and the people are friendly. I haven't had a bad chicken teriyaki yet. But the beef teriyaki isn't as consistently good. The price runs around $5 for lunch bowl and $7-$8 for the dinner.

Located in Uptown (Lower Queen Anne) just west of Queen Anne Ave. N and West Roy Street. This is a mom and pop shop, where the chef personally greets you upon entering. People who work nearby meet here for lunch. They are very friendly towards families with strollers. The food is very good/fresh. My toddler just devours their tempura cone.
There is always plenty of seating. Ample parking is available in the reserved spots at the side of the building or on street. ( http://www.shiki-sushi.com )

In the last 8 years Renton Honda has gone from great quality car shop to downright poor. What is going on in the service department?
I had taken my Honda to another place for a cheaper service AFTER having had a tune-up done at Honda. The other place questioned the work done(!?!) I had to go back to Renton to get the service done right a second time. My time, frustration, effort and gas was not worth it.
Yet I took our other Honda there for a major tune-up last year. Why not, give them a second chance, right? At that point, the car was not completed by the time they promised. My husband had to take the bus home and back. Our Saturday's plans were blown now. A week later, the car died and I found myself stranded with two kids. My battery died. That's funny, I thought this was part of the inspection!!!
Go to the one in Edmonds or Hinshaws of Auburn instead. Or risk being put in my situation.

What a better combination than to have art of roman architecture and science in one palace. The Palace held the artwork for the 1915 Panama Pacific Exposition. Now the last remaining structure, it houses multiple experiments glorifying science phenomenons.
The Palace is a wonderful place to photograph. Set in overgrown landscaping and a pond housing wildlife, it is a natural backdrop for scenes in movies, like 'The Rock'. The terracotta columns contrasts very well against the blue sky (day or night). The artisans that built the originals were flown in from Europe. Beautiful, you have to see it and feel it for yourself.

If you ever want to see what it is like to be like Helen Keller, put on earplugs and descend into the darkness of the Tactile Dome. But, make sure you call a day ahead and schedule an appointment first.
This place is for all ages, even 3 year olds enjoy playing with the hands-on experiments. They just don't know they are learning.
Free admission via reciprocal membership through ASTC. There is a toddler area so that they are not completely left out. Allot a day for this activity. They are located in the Marina district and close at 5pm. ( http://www.exploratorium.edu )

We used her for a couple of hours out in the city at the recommendation of our Concierge, whom was very trustworthy. She was very good. She read to my toddler. She lives out in Marin county but traveled to our hotel for a $10 fee. Her rates for Friday night, 9-12pm for 2 kids (1 toddler, 1 infant) was $15/hour.

The service was slow, the order taken was wrong or missing, not everyone's soda was refilled and it took 20 minutes to get the check. It is a nice clean restaurant equipped with a highchairs and kid's menu. But they didn't handle kids very well. Their order gets taken out first!
If you don't have kids with you, you can probably get better treatment. Their reedeming quality is my love for Reubens. The sandwiches ($8) there are very good.
