I haven't ordered pizza from a chain since I left college (??? years ago:)). I always thought it was too doughy, whether it was Domino's, or Pizza Hut, or Papa John's. They all seem to have the same old boring crust that's too thick. Well, I got stuck on a playdate and the other Mom ordered Dominos. It took some effort but I choked down a piece. My 3-year old, who loves all things food, especially pizza, barely finished his only piece. Perhaps he was distracted by the playdate. I don't know. I'll chalk it up to his good taste and the terrible pizza. Give me Westgate Pub pizza (eaten there, not take-out, it gets too soggy in the box), or Mom's Bake at Home pizza and I'll be fine.

These guys are really great to my 3 year old son. Jerry usually cuts his hair and is sweet, but sometimes we get Sam or Luigi himself. Nice guys.

Tucked away off of Darby Rd. is one of our most consistent restaurants. I've been there a half-dozen times now and each time it's great. Service is dependable and usually timely. I had one of their duck dishes the last time I was there and it was probably the most tender duck I've ever had. My husband got the tenderloin (typical) and he loved it too. We honestly haven't had a bad meal there. Kudos, keep it up please.

Been there twice now and the food and service each time has left much to be desired. I took my 2 year-old son there last year and waited a good 6 or 7 minutes before I was even greeted at my table. Then went with my husband and son earlier this year and our dinners looked like they sat in the kitchen for a good 15 minutes before they reached us. Didn't matter because it was mediocre at best anyway. Sorry.

I remember the Boccella's reputation years ago... Great place for a sandwich. So much meat you could buy one and make 2 sandwiches from it, etc... But you know what, it was always really dirty. The new owners have done a nice job cleaning the place up and expanding the menu. Some things are a little pricey, but nothing out of the ordinary. I like it and will go there now for a sandwich now, even though I avoided it the last couple of years with the old owners.

Totally gives me the feel of the deli I grew up with in the Northeast. That smell when you walk in can't be beat. Fresh rolls and cheeses and meats. Good stuff.

I think this is one the best-kept secrets in Havertown. The toppings on the pizza are so fresh I catch myself picking them off and eating them before they go in the oven. The people running the place are really nice too. Pizzas are done in about 15 minutes and are hot and crispy. I always get a salad too. Keeps me from eating that extra slice. Know what I mean:)
