My husband and I absolutely love The Neighborhood Cafe! Located in the Whittier Heights neighborhood (Ballard), we are able to walk there. Plus, the place is so kid-friendly! We bring our ten-month-old daughter with us, and the wait staff are always so sweet with her. The owner/cook is a very friendly woman who always comes out to see how everyone is doing -- the first time we were there she made a little pancake for our daughter (at no charge!). What a kind gesture. The food is very good, and service is relatively quick. The Neighborhood Cafe really made an impression on us, and we will keep going back.

If I can't find an item at a chain, I tend to look at The Right Start -- they almost always have what I am looking for! I like the location behind the University Village, but there is also one in Bellevue. I particularly like their selection of stylish diaper bags. They have a line that looks like Petunia Picklebottom, but at less than half the price! Their feeding section is also great, with bowls that suction to the high-chair or table, and a wide variety of cute bibs and utensils. It's really a fun store to browse -- I always find something I'd like!

This jam-packed with merchandise consignment store across from the University Village has such a great selection of Robeez slippers! I saw many styles there that I had never seen anywhere else but on the Robeez website. They also have lots of cute used clothes, and a pretty big selection of new items, too. It can feel a bit crowded when you get more than a few people in the store, but there is plenty of parking in the lot.

We really like this mexican place on Holman Road in Seattle's Crown Hill area. It is tasty, reasonably priced and kid-friendly. We have been there numerous times with our nine-month-old daughter and they are always gracious and welcoming. We feel comfortable bringing her there and often see many other families dining. The service is quick (so important when dining with a baby) and we always have a good experience dining there!
