I hope new york is filled with cafés like MUD instead of starbucks. They have delicious and strong coffee and interesting selection of local beers. I would prefer going there in the winter time, because the atmosphere is very warm and cozy, like a little brick house near a hiking trail. There's no working fireplace inside but always feel the warm glow when I am in there. There are many college/ artsy kids just chilling and reading. They serve very good smelling tea in a huge mug and great deserts.

This bar has a very unique atmosphere, tucked underground of east village, plays dark moody classic rock and serves various sake and other Japanese hard liquors. They serve little Japanese dishes that goes very well with the sake. This place give me a strange feeling of being stuck in time.. like being in old movies. Overall, lovely place to sip strong sake at late nights.

Kelly & Ping never disappoints me with their authentic dishes. The interior is decorated with south Asian everyday items, and it has a very high ceiling with big fans with make you feel like you are actually in Taipei or in Bangkok street. The orders come out really fast and you can see the cooks cooking the food in front of you. Its a little pricey compare to the other Thai/Vietnamese places. This is my favorite noodle place in Soho.

Like many bars in the lower east side, this bar supports young artists by having an art show every month. The lighting is too dark to see the details, but check out the art works on the wall. They have very nice strong cocktails, $4 special till 10 pm. Try their lycee martini and sangria. They serve pretty good Thai/ asian food too. The place is usually crowded with hipster kids and locals with very mellow atmosphere.

Asian pub is a good place to hang out if you don't mind college kids and tourists. They have $4 cocktails anytime, free edamame and really crispy calamari with asian chili sauce. Its pretty clean, spacious with high ceiling inside. They also have a nice out door sitting area. The menu is mostly Japanese and some korean dishes which are not amazing but not bad either. Don't order any noodle dishes cuz they tend to over cook it. The weekend is very crowded but during the week, its one of my favorite hang out.

I adore art nouveau painters like Klimt and Schiele, so this gallery is like heaven to me. It's a small mansion located near central park among all the big art museums of New York. The admission is little pricey considering how small this gallery is, but their collection is none like others. They have exquisite collection of decorative German house wares and a little book shop with good selection of art books. The cafe down stair shows pretty interesting movies. This gallery will always have a special place in my heart.

Located in the heart of Soho, FACE Stockholm has many effective make ups and skin care products. Their make ups seem to have more pigments than other brand, you only need a little to show the color. I love their facial moisturizer. It leave my skin very moisturized and fresh without a trace of stickiness or oil. The price is in the same range as other well known brands like Lancome, clinique and ester lauder.. but the products seems purer and very professional.

The store is well organized and the sales people are very helpful. You can find basically any type of skin care products and they have many hair products too. I've tried their samples first and ended up getting most of the products I tried. Their rare earth mask is my favorite. if you want something to cleans and refresh your face, ask for a sample and give it a try!

I've tried ramen in many japanese restaurants but no one gave me such a satisfaction as in Rai Rai Ken. This is the authentic japanese ramen restaurant that serves only ramen and ramen- like noodle dishes. The place is very narrow and small so you might have to wait a little to get a seat. If you know that you want ramen and nothing else, this is the place to go.
