They're over on Nickerson Street by the Fremont Bridge. They did all the blinds for our house. Very quickly done and quality work. They accommodated an extra request without a problem.

They're over on Elliott Ave and you're buying the mattress straight from the manufacturer: that's right, Made in America. I've had a mattress that I got from the four years ago. It was reasonably-priced and great quality (they have different levels of quality to choose from in their modest showroom). I think they also include delivery in the cost, but don't quote me on that. They were recommended to me by several other satisfied customers of theirs.

We'd recently had D. A. Burns clean our wall-to-wall carpet and wool rug. Ron, the carpet cleaning guy, was courteous and professional and made sure he was thorough. Our carpets look great.
Their price was reasonable and well worth the higher cost of not renting a rug cleaner, just by ease of having someone come by and do it for you. It also yields better results.
I'd read the other positive reviews on Judy's Book and I am in total agreement that D. A. Burns is a top quality service. I will recommend them to others.

We'd been through a continuous backup problem in our basement (an older townhouse) over 1.5 years. After six backups, lotsa flooding, and two other plumbers who kept giving us either guesswork or no help at all, we'd found Gene Johnson plumbing through a recommendation of a neighbor.
Shawn and Jerry showed up (granted an hour and twenty minutes late, but it goes to show how highly I think of their business if I'm still giving them five stars) and came in with their camera which they lowered into the pipe. Shawn walked me through what they were doing every step of the way, and their diagnosis was right on. They were completely professional and totally empathetic to our problem, and not simply there to charge us for showing up. They were also committed to finding out what the problem was right from the start
Our condo administrator said that their price for the camera was very reasonable ($400, compared to an average of $600 or more) but it is free with the job when you approve their estimate.
I have a healthy distrust of anyone who cannot give me straight answers, concise information, and high quality work; Gene Johnson Plumbing has earned my trust by providing all three. I would recommend them without hesitation.

My wife was a stylist at Trade Secret in Northgate Mall in Seattle. They used to have a lot of customers of varying ethnicities, and, therefore, varying hairstyles. For instance, my wife had several African-American clients. I'm not sure if that's still the case (it's been a couple of years) but worth a try. I'm giving it four stars because I can't guarantee who may still be working there, but they seemed to hire quality people. Good luck!

I have a Mac (no iPod), but while waiting for repair, there were many people there to get their iPods fixed. One caveat: call first to see what the wait is like! They're a very busy store and the lines for service can be long, hence my four star rating. The techs are called "Geniuses" (don't ask me!) and you'll have to see how busy the Geniuses are before going in. I can guess the weekends are probably very busy. Here's their info: http://www.apple.com/retail/universityvillage/map/
There's also another Apple store (not the official store) on 45th Street just east of I-5, and the University Bookstore on University Ave, though I don't know if either repair iPods.
Good luck!

At this posting, I'm waiting on a couple of wheels to be rebuilt by Wright Bros. I could have gone to Performance Bicycle in the U District, but there is no equal in Seattle to Wright Bros. (that I'm aware of).
It is the rare occasion to converse with the actual owner (Charles) of an establishment, and that's what you'll find there. That, plus the combined experience of quality work, the overcrowded shop piled with bikes and parts, the hearty smell of grease, and the sense that I'm leaving my trusted bike in good hands that keeps me coming back. On this last visit, before they quoted me a price for rebuilding my wheels, they offered up the class to learn it myself. I'd have done it if I had more time.
I've been a member for five years and have taken their repair classes before - that in itself builds a sense of loyalty and community among the members.
NOTE: Wright Bros. does not do much in the way of sales of complete bikes, mostly just parts and accessories.

We'd heard of Dr. Norton via word of mouth. After having been to a couple of other clinics in Seattle that seemed to offer mostly guesswork and, therefore, lotsa $$ toward treating our pug, we went to Dr. Norton. He not only diagnosed our dog accurately (yeast infections), he offered us a very cheap solution - Tinactin and Head and Shoulders shampoo. This was about $12 (plus average office visit cost) compared to the hundreds of dollars we'd already spent on vet visits and prescription meds. If you own any of the brachycephalic ("smash-faced") dogs - pug, Boston terrier, boxer, bulldog - he has a fondness for those breeds, particularly the pug. You also get the feeling he's being as forthright with you as possible.
The only downside is for folks from Seattle - he's in the Redmond outlying areas and it's a loooong trip during rush hour.

I've not been to Scream, but my wife is a hair stylist who once worked at Rudy's Belltown. Just like any other salon, your cut depends on who does it. If you liked your barber the first time, you can request them the next time by calling in advance (though you still may have to wait: it's hard to reserve your barber because their clients are predominantly walk-ins). By looking at the styles of the staff, you'd think all they do is punk/rockabilly styles, but they're all trained stylists/barbers, so most can accommodate individual needs.
Here's the rub: they are trained for volume, hence the bad reviews. Some of these stylists are doing 20 cuts in six hours; the more cuts you do, the more tips you get, the more incentives and bennies the company gives you, etc. Rudy's also pushes the staff to move product, so, your barber is a commissioned salesperson, too.
I feel bad for the barbers (though, they can make good pay) but they are given no employer paid benefits (insurance, paid time off, etc.) until much later in their tenure, and have to work very intensively. Some of the more aggressive barbers would also hoard customers, making the atmosphere a bit of a customer quota competition - again, the more cuts, the more pay, etc.
My wife left there because, for someone who just enjoys doing hair and is focused on quality, the assembly line and salesperson approach doesn't work well for her.
I hope that explains a little from the Rudy's perspective.
And, yes, your cut with tip will be around $22.
