This place is great. It's hard to find much Thai food in the North Seattle area, but this little restaurant is a godsend when you need Thai food tonight~! The place is owned by a family that does a great job cooking, their food is decently priced, and they're always faster than what they quote you for pick-up. I only wish they had more parking, but otherwise, there's plenty of space to dine in the restaurant and great Thai ices teas too! :)

I finally made it to this restaurant after hearing that it was old, crowded, and just not the first choice to be. (lol...I know) We went in for Karaoke (which starts after 9 each night) and it was pretty full. Luckily, they turn the entire restaurant into seating for the karaoke sessions (&, yes, u still can order food) so we could find a seat & still slightly see the singers. The best parts to being here (vs. there :) was that the singers were good and bad. I'm not any Mariah Carey or even that guy that sings the happy birthday song real well... so even making a sit-down appearance in a karaoke place is a lil scary 4 me. But here, it was great! They had strong (or at least not watered down) drinks, nice servers, and some pretty average person type singers (& a few good 1's too). Though we ran out of time to b4 we got out chance to sing, I know i could've gotten up there and felt more comf. around this group a people than the small karoke bar we just left full of the best singers. It was just a bunch of people, young & old, relaxed, & just wantin' to sing & have a great time. So, of all the N. Seattle places to just hang & karaoke, the Rickshaw is at the top of my list!

I saw Boka online after hearing so much about it through some other hotels...& maybe it's not fair to review (since...technically..I haven't been there yet), but I love the colors/design they use...& I'm so excited to go try their red birthday cake and get drinks there. I used to go to the W for drinks (they have awesome drinks)and from then on I learned that the hotel restaurants/lounges usually are pretty awesome. The sound of 'urban american,' as feature in BOKA, was a lil' strange to me at first, but after seeing their menu..I am definitely gonna make my way over... As for the 'fumbled' staff & 'not [being] busy'...the whole place is new, so I'd give them a break. Just like in high school...it takes a while to get popular, eh? :)

I went through the same experience of needing, or wanting, a landline. My cell bill had been so high I was determined to find a cheaper option. Thinking I could just order from Qwest, who seemed to have the cheapest basic/local rate plus installation, i was later proved wrong.
After waiting for the date Qwest said my landline should be working, I was so excited and kept testing the line a couple times every hour during the evening (ooh, my first landline!). When I didn' t get a dial tone, I used my cell to call and ask what was going on. They seemed to think that it should work anytime and told me to try again the next. So, repeat this all tomorrow to find it still wasn't working. Soon, they sent me to some technical troubleshooter cs rep who told me the line was down and they'd have to send a technician out to ck it out. There was a catch though, the tech would cost me near $100 to come fix the line if the problem was something like 50 feet near or on our property line and it would cost nothing if the problem was on the lines b/w the telephone poles. So, full of an already building frustration from a high cell bill & my new and much anticipated landline being broken, I was so upset that they were basically telling me I was forced to pay this extra gigantic fee to even start svc. After several phone calls to diff. cs reps and finally speaking to a manager about the fact that someone should be warned about the possibility of an extra fee like that before they commit you to all the start-up taxes/fees of even ordering a new phone line (yes, separate from that technician fee), I finally got them to cancel the phone line and not charge me the cost of ordering this service that I never even got to use!
I will never order Qwest ever, ever after having to go through that ordeal and, though a little unfamilier w/the whole cable/phone line/Vonage deal, am even willing to try that to avoid this provider. So, yes, if your line is cut, definitely ckout what other landline providers'll charge for repairs or go for the cable line! :)

My last job required me to drive so much that every couple of years it seemed like I needed a new car. After losing my second car, I was stuck and called everywhere, searched car magazines, and bussed the entire King County determined to not buy until I got the best deal and exactly what i wanted (even though my work dep'd on me getting a car asap).
After getting high prices from Bill Pierre Chev., too much of a sales pitch from the credit guy at W.Seattle's big Chev. dealer, buying a car from Dodge of Bellevue that they later deemed unsuitable and took back (kudos to their principles), and calling every ad w/a great deal (to find that the car was sold last nite), I finally called Chuck Olson. After telling them, I was so fed up with bad pricing and car hunting that I would buy the car that night if they could price it right, they went the extra mile and found the most awesome deal for me. My salesman, Bill K., was so nice and never pressured me. He was always positive and made the wait most all new car buyers go thru pass quickly.
To this day, despite depreciation and the worry I need to tune my car up more than i do, I love my car, I love the deal they got me, and I'd even buy one of their Kia's (despite an ex boyfriend/car salesman telling me otherwise) just because they would be selling it to me. So, though they're technically located in Shoreline, WA (close enuf to Seattle)..i think they definitely fit the bill for a great place to buy a car (they also have a great service dept...they went out of their way to get me a new wheel specially designed to fit my car overnite w/out any extra charge and they send me svc reminders). You should check them out!

I just wanted to say that the #41 is awesome. Recently, i switched jobs and have been commuting downtown for the first time ever. Since i have to walk the dogs every morning...which of course puts me behind in getting to the busstop (yes, blaming the dogs:) , I'm always just barely to the transit centre on time. The bus driver with the beard & accent (sorry didn't catch a name) that arrives not too long before 8am is great! I've driven at my previous job so much that, even when not driving i can't help but feel a little like a back seat driver and am always watching how the drivers make their way thru heavy I-5 traffic. A big pat on the back to this awesome driver (who though jerky...(ie. brakes some vs. mean) every once in a while due to heavy traffic) always knows how to cut into the free-est lane, merge at the most efficient part of the downtown exiting lanes, and drives fast!! Thank goodness! This guy and the fact that the bus comes so often has been a life (or, at least job!) saver! ; )

I love this clinic! At my last job, we went through a few medical carrier changes at i had the opportunity to try out the clinic w/my Regence plan. Since I'm usually so busy, it was great to be able to call at the very last minute to get in an appt. in. I never really have a steady Dr. I see, due to scheduling/availability conflicts and ended up seeing a dr., a physician's asst., and a nurse practitioner there. Each and everyone, though diff., was so knowedgable, respectful, and was able to help me when I was sick or needed anything. I really liked Jane Mcphee (ARNP). When I broke out to hives (not the little kind, but the gigantic, angiodemic, I-look-like-a-monster-kind) for the first time ever, I first called the Harborview consulting nurse for help...She was so rude to me and told me in a stern (& really mean tone) to calm down and take a Benadryl (no empathy or understanding at all). After getting into the office w/Jane, she was so nice and completely understood the shock someone might actually b goin' thru when they have no idea what's going on and they look like society's outcast all of a sudden. She did all she could to make sure the exorbitant amt. of medicine I nd'd to control the hives was avail/affordable to me, gave me her email, and was so willing to help & accomodate. Even though my co. switched to Group Health before i left, I swear, if I'd gotten sick again, I would definitely made my way back to the clinic...even if it cost me that extra 20%, plus a whole new deductible. I guess I can see why people can be so devoted to the same dr now. Once you find one that knows their stuff, you, and is pretty cool...who'd wanna' chance it w/the rest?? :)

Hi!, I recently went to Northgate Vet. Clinic and had a good experience. They have so many doctors, I can understand if someone could have had one that offered something different than what their former vet had told them.
Really, though,...I chose them 'cause my boyfriend refused to see our normal vet (who had snapped at him for not knowing the little details of what led to our dogs recent illness), I would've been extremely late to work if I'd chosen any other clinic to handle the sudden appearance of our dog's symptoms, and 'cause they were reccomended by a dog fanatic/owner/dog group leader that I'd known for a few yrs. After I checked-in I was very happy to see that the ofc was clean and well-kept up (which can definitely say something about the business and what they invest into it) and the reception staff was very nice as well.
After meeting the Dr. (Phillips), he was very quick to explain what was the most likely cause of my dog's condition. I was very impressed that he could explain this right away, as my dog is a very specific breed that many DVM's might not have known much about. He also, offered a couple popular methods of treatment and the likelihood of success/diff. outcomes with each.
After leaving the clinic, still unsure of what route I should take for my dog, I called the vet ofc. to leave a vm for the dr., who actually & amazingly called me back. (I had never known Dr.'s to call people back as they are usually so busy & flooded w/appts. to remember small things like vm). Since I'd told them that I worked non-profit and couldn't afford one of the tx options he worked with me on a simple, more cost effective option then followed up with phone calls to me for the next couple weeks re: the condition of my dog (at no cost to me..by the way).
Several weeks later, my dog is so much better now, and though you could attribute that to the dr's advice, the medicine, or just time, I am extremely grateful to have found such a considerate veterinarian that could provide the necessary information, support, referrals, and follow-up that any pet-owner should be able to access when making extremely important decisions for their beloved family members. So, yes, that would be an :' I do reccomend Northgate Veterinary Clinic.' & especially Dr. Phillips if he has an opening. : )
P.S. Their hours are fairly accomodating, which I considered when deciding to go to our normal vet vs. the emer. clinic, and they seemed to have an opening right away. Perfect!

After receiving a small moving violation fine I opted to pay the price of the ticket vs. head to court and deal with the inconvenience of going downtown and disputing with a judge. Thinking this might just be more quick than the latter option, I was in for a surprise. After calling to speak with one of the customer service representatives and waiting several minutes on hold, after a brief hell-o and request for assistance with my account, I was immediately hung up on. I then waited on hold several minutes to reach someone again who acknowledged they had just talked with me, apologized for hanging up, then realizing the implication and the rudeness of their action, then denied it was previously them on the line (yes, in the same phone conversation). A few seconds into this call, I received the response from the customer service rep. that they could not help me and that I had to speak with another rep. (in the same position) that was out of the office. Having to squeeze in my request for information again before they unwillingly tried to speed up the end of my call by transferring my to someone else's vm, I managed to finally get an accurate balance from this rep...but not willingly nor with any pleasantness at all. After waiting a week and a half for the lady with the vm to get back to me (who never did) I had to call back to go through this whole process again. Less hanging up this time, but just as much unwillingness to help or provide any information I requested that all the c.s. reps should have easily been able to access through their shared computer server. The last straw: not trusting these reps over the phone, I finally went to pay the bill in person and the c.s. rep that I encountered almost started an argument (she was very confrontational) after I simply asked her if the cashier accepted cash. She assumed that I was paying cash at that moment (though I had never made that statement), entered it into the computer as a cash transaction, and when I pulled out a money order to cover the majority of the amt. plus maybe 2-3 dollars to cover the remainder (since I hadn't been sure what the total amount was) she asked in a tone of ridicule 'what are we doing here?' This to which I responded and as most would assume one would not even have to say anything: 'paying the ticket.' Though the transaction was pretty simple...the fact that she could respond so rudely over an action that is her job and that only requires she have the ability to count and see what is placed before her just emphasized the pretty gosh darn bad and incompetent service you might just get from people that our tax dollars are paying over $16 or $17 dollars an hour (not including their benefits) to serve us like this. This c.s. rep continued to blame me for not telling her how I would pay when she could've just asked (like her job would require....or at least deduce from her having some reasonable mathematic ability) and went on to have an attitude through the remainder of the transacion. All this long rattle in short, if you get any ticket...if you don't dispute, pay it ONLINE right away and don't dare to deal with these rude customer service reps at the Seattle Municipal Court Building. There are maybe one or two nice reps, but the odds that you will get a negative one are much greater...unfortunately. Just to note: I never approached any of these reps with a rude tone or statement...but simply had to keep asking to get basic information that should have been supplied with ease or suffer through an action that should have been completed without any form of struggle or pain. At this point I am very disappointed as well in the HR dept. responsible for the City of Seattle's hiring needs with the Municipal Court and any suprevisor that allows people like that to take advantage of funds we should be paying out for GOOD customer sevice. :) The End.
