Ok, I'll start with the fact that I love the name of this place. It also houses many great clothing finds that are different, and cooler, than what you'll find in the mall. This cool little shop has a pretty good mix of shirts, dresses, skirts, and pants and they were able to make me and my 17 year old niece happy with our clothing finds.

I also thought the prices were pretty reasonable. In fact, right this moment I am wearing the top I bought ($26) and the earrings ($5) to match. I got a great necklace/brooch and earring set for $15 as well and picked up several items for my niece too as gifts. For my niece we got a cute little button down sweater, an adorable print dress, and another top. With all of these items we got out of the store under $135.
We got lucky and learned the day we stopped by that they had just started opening on Sundays - lucky for us since that was the only day I had to do the shopping spree with my niece. A really funny and sweet bulldog seems to be the shop owner's pet and he/she(?) was running around while we were there. You can tell the shop owners are some pretty hip folks but they were a little into their own thing when we got there but I think part of that had to do with them doing some photos while we were there - that and they were eating their lunch out on the shop floor with their friends.
No matter though - we still enjoyed the experience. My only item I'd suggest they consider is carrying some items in sizes larger than just Large. My friend that shopped with us couldn't find a single item in an XL so there will be some exclusivity in the shop just by that measure.

I'm spending a 10 day trip in Wichita to see the family and while I'm here there is time to see my best friends from high school. This entails flashbacks of memories but it also included Flashbacks, in Old Town, to go out dancing. http://www.360wichita.com/NightLife/Flashbacks.html
The club is huge and has multi-level dance floors. On the Saturday night that we went it wasn't as busy as some other nights but it was certainly busy enough. The cocktail waitresses and female bartenders are forced to wear VERY skimpy and revealing outfits but, of course, the men get to wear boring outfits and they aren't required to be tiny in physical size. There are several beer stations that help to keep the bar empty enough that it's easier to get mixed drinks easily from either the bar directly or via the wait staff. Lots of booths and large bar areas allow for a variety of seating options and visibility around the room. Pool tables are in the south end of the building behind the DJ booth.
Later in the evening it was getting pretty wild and I have to say that going to clubs is getting weirder and weirder. Too many people have watched cruddy videos where all that happens is a lot of bumping and grinding. there was a lot of that going on and several multi-person grope-fests. My friend advised that we leave about an hour before closing because sometimes it gets a little rough in there with fights toward closing time.
I still had a good time although I could do without the smoking. I've gotten very used to the smoking ban already in Washington State and I hope it makes its way here soon.

Earlier this week we had dinner at Market Street Grill and we received the usual lovely dinner fare. This time I had the grilled escolar dish and it was a wonderful meal of one of my new favorite fish types. I'd been introduced to escolar via sushi at Rain but having it grilled is just as decadent.
My partner had the Caesar Salad and the roast chicken dinner. My assistant had the bar menu macaroni and cheese, tuna tartare, and the squash soup. All were very good and we all left sated and happy.
There are some new wines by the glass (and bottle) on the menu and I love that they rotate some of these around. It's definitely worth coming here frequently to check out the menu and wine list changes.

I have lived in Seattle for 19 years now and travel back to Wichita every 1-3 years to visit family. This trip I stopped in to pick up a few items and although I didn't find the jacket I had hoped would replace my torn leather coat I did have a good experience in shopping. The staff was friendly and I did get help in looking for what I needed. I also found the women at the cosmetic counters here to be much more friendly than the ones I see when I am shopping in Seattle's Macy's or Nordstrom stores.
A few years ago a man in the shoe department had been very helpful in my last minute search for a pair of shoes to go with a bride's maid outfit that I needed for a wedding later that day. I'd held off thinking I'd have time and then had to do this last minute. My shoes got more attention than I'd expected and I ended up loving them and wearing them more than I expected too. Who knew I'd enjoy a silver pair of sandals?

Having got into town just the other day I was looking for dinner with my mom where we could get something fairly fresh and healthy. We ended up at Bamboo Stix where I found they make Chinese and Japanese food. We had Chinese that first night with my mom ordering cashew chicken and I got shrimp with snow peas and bamboo shoots. It was a well priced meal (under $20 for 2), and even better with her coupon, that was satisfying and actually gave a large enough portion size that I could eat leftovers the following day as a whole meal.
The following night I brought my niece here so we could get sushi. I introduced her to this food when she visited me in Seattle and she hadn't had it since but she'd loved it so much we had to make a night to get some here. The quality was good, the fish fresh and tasty and we also enjoyed a seaweed salad along with it. Our sushi offerings we took were salmon skin roll, spider roll (soft shell crab), and a sashimi mix (salmon, tuna, and white tuna). All in all it was very good. I'll definitely be back.

I'm in Kansas visiting the family and had an opportunity to do some shopping with my very hip niece the other day. We stopped in the Towne West mall and I discovered a company called Buckle (not in Seattle) that carries some of their own jeans and the Lucky Brand of jeans.
Now, I am a larger size (12) and I find it hard to get jeans that fit. Lucky Brand has been good to me in the past and the young gal helping me in the dressing room found a few pairs that worked for me. This is a good thing considering how tough I am to fit.
I was also impressed that jeans here aren't as expensive as the designer jeans they sell at places like Nordstrom where you have to put down $150-250 for a pair. Unrealistic and the reason so many young women are getting themselves into some serious debt.

I know a guy named Dale Arp (206-949-6562 cell) that can often be hired out for such things. He charges about $35 per hour. You should also consider checking out Mr. Handyman, the franchise, as they can usually do all of these things as well and they are a licensed and bonded business. This is something serious to consider if a person will be working on your house and it's possible they could hurt themselves - such as being on a ladder.

I ended up in here with some girlfriends a few weeks ago while we were out celebrating the upcoming nuptials for a friend. Given that we're all at the later side of 30's and early 40's we were looking for a milder place to be than Pesos up the road.
The place clearly had people in it, but it wasn't packed, and it was definitely what we would call a man's bar but after being in some of the other places in the same area it was a welcome change. No sliding up against lots of other bodies just to get around or to the bar.
I did appreciate that the waitress that served our table was nice and gave us plenty of attention even though we weren't heavy drinkers that evening - well, at least some of us weren't...

Hi Tom,
I am a big fan of Kirk Jolley and I'm sure he could handle this for you if he's got time between larger jobs. He lives in the Fremont area and usually likes to keep his business within a 15-20 minute drive of home if he can and your place would match that perfectly. Remind him that you may have met at the FEAR Project fundraiser when you emceed for us. :) And, thanks again for that!
The alternative is Patrick Howe of Artisan Home Improvement but he is out of the country till Feb 21st or so.
