We made a point of visiting the Kauai Museum and were somewhat disappointed that we hadn't opted to spend our limited time elsewhere. The museum does have some interesting information and material, but it is small and the displays are somewhat dated.
It is worth a visit for 1-2 hours in town while waiting for a flight out, but not worth prioritizing over some of the other wonderful locations on Kauai.

I love this store. It's a one-stop spot for getting any travel book you need. Their selection extends far beyond guidebooks, offering travel literature, essays...if they don't have what you want, they'll order it. If you're not sure which guide is right for you, the store staff really know their stuff and can help you decide. In addition, they are all well-traveled and can guide you toward other resources if you ask.

Seattle Lighting south of downtown has a great selection. Tends to carry mid to high-end lines. It can be a bit crowded/hard to find help on weekends.

I know this place has a reputation for the older set, but it's worth checking out. Though they are a chain store, they generate a limited number of runs on each design (or so it seems) and release new merchandise monthly.
There are boutiques in U Village, Pacific Place, and Bellevue (as far as I know).

We have been using Pandasia as a take-out staple for many years.
Favorites on the menu are Malaysian chicken, General Tsao's chicken, Pike Place Market Stir Fry (add tofu and select whichever sauce suits you) and szechwan green beans.
There are some things that DON'T travel well--like the calamari which tends to get soggy on its way to you.

This ice cream is very rich--a real treat, particularly for those of us who no longer live in the area! Signature flavors are really any of the chip flavors which feature very large (as in practically candy bar-sized) chunks of bittersweet chocolate. Terrific!

I have had such a great experience using Rip 'N Stitch that I felt they were worth a mention here. The service is exemplary and the work is top notch. Recently, while my Mom was in the hospital, they even went out their way to help me get my alterations even though I had to fly out of town before they would be ready.

I've taken both of my dogs to Green Lake Animal Hospital for more than 7 years. We have had good experience there, although we did need to be persistent when our dog was diagnosed with cancer. (We wanted to be aggressive in its treatment; the doctor thought a wait-and-see approach might be ok, but did refer us to Seattle's only veterinary oncologist.
They are certainly very busy, and I have experienced times when I had to wait a long time (45 min) to see the doctor and have had trouble connecting over the phone as I am often not readily available for a call back.
One trick for us was to find the right vet and then stick with him. Sounds like some of the other reviewers maybe haven't been so lucky vet-wise and that's unfortunate.

I would recommend that you avoid Car Toys. We have had several experiences with them that were under par. Unfortunately, we just didn't know of any alternatives of have the time to look around....

Most recently, they lost our appointment. When they finally did install the stereo, they left miscellaneous parts lying on the seat. This was in line with our previous experience--no matter how many times we took the car back, they never seemed to get it quite right.

We stumbled upon Cyndy's years ago and were doubtful from its modest looks and Aurora Ave location. Don't be fooled--they have some of the best pancakes in town. I order the 'dutch baby' pancakes every time--a wonderful, baked egg-y pancake sered up with lemon juice and powdered sugar. Fabulous!
