Treasure at the end of the road

Sunday, October 01, 2006
If you find yourself on the Olympic Penninsula...the Makah Museum is definitely worth a visit. The museum houses thousands of artifiacts that were preserved in a mudslide and uncovered in the 1970s. We were lucky to ask for--and receive--an impromptu walkthrough with a staff member who was eager to share his perspective on the dig, history or relations btwn the us govt and native tribes, life on the rez, etc.
