You probably want to know what the difference is between Eritrean and Ethiopian food. I, unfortunately lack the knowledge to discern the difference. But Hidmo is a fantastic place to eat. The server I've had every time I've been there (she may be the owner, I'm not sure) is incredibly warm and high-energy, and is very proud of the food. And it's true that the food is pretty much without fault- the injera is perfectly sour and spongy, and both the meat and vegetable dishes are memorable. Make sure you try the hot sauce they offer, it is very complex and impressive. If you like Ethiopian, try Hidmo. If you haven't tried much Ethiopian food, Hidmo would be a great place to dip your toe into East African cuisine. Also, it's a very good value.

Omar Al-Khyam is right off I-405 in Renton- you will almost certainly drive right by it and have to circle back. But it's so worth it-- it's the best Lebanese food in the Seattle area. Try the smoky baba ghanoush with garlic puree, the lemon garlic chicken wings, the kebabs. It's all very satisfiying and a welcome change from the mediocre arabic food one usually finds in Seattle.

Hoven Foods is a little Chinese grocery in the ID, around the corner from the Post Office. But along with all the typical supplies for Chinese cooking, they have fresh, homemade noodles, and a freezer full of interesting dumplings and other Shanghai-style snacks. Quite a different selection than most asian groceries-- all the ones I have tried are fabulous!

I've used Discount Heating & Air for regular furnace maintenance and repair, as well as to install a central air conditioning system. They do great work, are easy to schedule with, and are super friendly. E.J.'s prices are more than fair, and he goes all over the place even though he's located in Federal Way.

Maneki is fantastic. The sushi is great and quite cheap compared to equivalent establishments. Conveniently for your non-sushi loving friends and family, Maneki also has a large menu with all kinds of Japanese food, including some rarely seen, homestyle Japanese dishes. It's a great place to explore new things or find your old standbys. Incredible value.

Hing Loon is one of the best restaurants in the ID. The people are extremely nice, and the food is wonderful (mainly Cantonese). Try ordering from the many, many signs on the wall, or use the menu. Some items of particular interest:
(1) The wonton soup broth is out of this world, and the wontons are very good too;
(2) Beef chow udon with black pepper is spicy and unusual;
(3) any of their clay pot dishes, such as eggplant and salt fish hot pot.

From the street, this restaurant doesn't look like much, but it's usually packed with people enjoying very good and authentic dishes from Sichuan province. Try the hot pot, or order from the regular menu- it's all great and very inexpensive. They have a sister restaurant on the east side.
