A slice of tradition

Friday, June 16, 2006
Regina's has been lauded by almost everyone as having possibly the best pizza in Boston. I have to agree. I had their Original North End recipe pie as well as the Pollo Regina...one seemed like the staple and one, a house signature. It was awesome. The Pollo Regina had the most delicious ricotta cheese I've ever tasted. It was so fresh and creamy. And on every booth there is a bottle of spiced olive oil, parmesian cheese, hot pepper flakes, oregano, anything you could imagine possibly necessary for a slice of pizza. The crowd in this North End location was charming too. A few of the elders sat at the bar, where they serve bottles of Ballantine Ale!!! The jukebox has Italian classics from Sinatra to Dean Martin. It's a great pizza and a great experience. And wandering around the North End afterward in search of pastries is reason enough to make the trip.
