Tucked into an unassuming strip mall space, Bombay Bistro is a gem in the wilds of suburban North Austin. Their menu covers a lot of ground, from delicately spiced vegetables and cheese to the rough and tumble vindaloo full of heat and vinegar. Standouts include the lamb vindaloo, the saag paneer and the Baigan Mumtaz, a dish of fried eggplant, cheese and tomato chutney. Service can be spotty, because there seems to be only one waiter. If you have plenty of time to spend on dinner, it is definitely worth the visit.
