classic art house theater

Madison Art Cinemas is what we always wanted York Square Cinema to be...a great small theater that selects its films carefully - with good ambiance, decent sound, delightful snacks, comfy seats. They're often the only place to find more obscure films locally, and it may be a long drive from New Haven, but it's worth it for the right movie - particularly if you take the time to stroll around the Madison town center. One warning - the audience may strike up conversations with strangers on the way out - it's happened more than once to me.
