The best way to describe this coffee shop is to call it local, which is funny because it used to be called the Local Grind. When the Local Grind shut down everyone thought that it was over and then Filter popped up in its place. They have great seating and drinks at reasonable prices. This is a nice place to meet with friends over a cup of coffee.

Getting a table can be a long wait if that is what you are going for in the morning. One thing that is nice are the window seats for watching out on to the street. It is a great way to sit down and hatch ideas.

I like this place, because it is surrounded by a bunch of corporate coffee shops trying to shut it down, but the Logan Square neighborhood wont let go. I have gotten a sandwich with soup here for lunch before and it was great along with everything else that they have. If you are ever in this area then you need to go here for your coffee to help support a more local feel.
