If you're anywhere near Newburgh, this is a definite stop you should make. Main reason - excellent natural food section. You could easily spend an hour browsing just the fresh produce! Everything seems to be grown locally, great quality food, and reasonable prices. Maybe a bit more than the supermarket, but worth it for the quality.
They also have a frozen food and dried produce area, and an excellent selection of natural, whole grain foods.
Another side to Adams is the greenery area - a plethora of plant potters, irrigation, etc, and an awesome selection of seeds if you like to grow your own.
Also, inside, a gift store (don't go in if perfumey smells drive you crazy) where you're certain to find a pleasant gift for someone, and, not to be missed - the CANDY section, ohmygosh, don't go here if you're on a diet, it's just too tempting!!

I somehow left the store without an item I had purchased. Unfortunately, I didn't realize it until the store had closed. When I called the next day, they said if I brought my receipt, they could look up the security camera view of me leaving the register and then replace the item. I went into the store, and customer service didn't give me any problem, just had me get the item, bring it to them, and bagged it, no problem!
While I struggled to find fun gifts in the city, Target came through with a gift idea for everyone on my list, great for last-minute shopping!!

When I first saw this place, I thought "what the heck is a koodoos?" Despite it's strange name, I ventured in for a meal a few days ago. The setup is a bit odd - the sushi bar is so high up that they have put round tables with two chairs next to it - so, one would feel they are sitting at a cocktail table, but it's the sushi bar. The other tables are all against the right-hand wall of the restaurant. It's like they tried to do a feng-shui look, but didn't quite get it right. There is some bamboo around, but the TV at the sushi bar is a bit of a miss since, if you're sitting across from it, you can't help but watch. Neither can the lone sushi chef who was working there on Thursday night. We told our waitress up front that we had a train to catch and had to eat quickly, and asked if they could accomodate our order. She said yes, but the sushi chef got so distracted we almost had to take our food to go.
That being said, the sushi was pretty good. I often judge a sushi restaurant by the quality of its sea urchin, and this place has fresh, excellent-tasting sea urchin, tuna, salmon, avocado, and some original house rolls which are different from the ones I've seen at Wasabi Lobby and other nearby places.
I do recommend this place, but don't go if you're in a hurry, and probably not the best place for a romantic meal.

This review is about the BAR at the Hudson hotel, not the rooms. Entrance is very enticing with green lights at the entrance and a glass door looking onto an up-escalator.
At the top, you'll find yourself in the hotel lobby, with the bar behind you. Bar has a very interesting crowd, definite people-watching spot.
Wait-staff is friendly, though not very quick, make sure you have time to enjoy your $9 beer!
brick walls are painted gold, which would normally be kind of tacky, but it somehow works with the dim lighting and feel of the place (without being tacky!)
Seemed like a good mix of both single people, and friends out with other friends.

This is an online craft store great for handbag-making supplies, - http://tallpoppycraft.com/
Though they are located in Australia, they do have a New York office, and even with increase shipping fees, you're unlikely to find some of their supplies any cheaper here, if you order in bulk. (Bamboo and leather handles, magnetic snaps, rings, etc.)
Shipping was extremely quick - had the items in under a week, and that was through regular mail.
Definitely recommend them if you're in the market for purse-making supplies.

Considering the neighborhood, and the clientele, this place is surprisingly horrible. Not only was it clear they wanted to rush clients in and out as quickly as possible to take in the next group, but they weren't even slick. As soon as we sat down, the waiter wanted to know if we wanted something to drink. He practically screamed to us. We said he should come back. A minute later, another waiter was screaming asking if we wanted a drink, we told him to come back. After the 3rd waiter came over, we gave in. This behavior was repeated for our food order. Every time we told one waiter to go away, a different one came over asking the same question.
The food was beyond horrible - dried up burger, overcooked eggs, crummy sausage, I was embarrassed to have subjected my friends to such an awful experience and will never go back by choice.

This is about the Best Buy on 86th and Lexington - had such a bad experience there recently I just had to write about it on Judy's Book!
My dad wanted to buy a computer monitor. He's very computer saavy, so once we found the monitor section, he chose what he wanted, and since we didn't see any on the shelf, we needed a sales rep. Of course, none to be found.
So, I march over to the computer counter. There's about 5 Best Buy employees there. Two of them seem to be having "watercooler chat" around a PC, so I ask if they could help me with a monitor. They say, "No, but she can." Pointing to a woman in a white sweater. I approach her, and she looks dazed and confused, like I've just asked her to solve a complex alegebra equation, but she comes over to the monitors. When we explain the model we want isn't on the shelf - which she checks, in case we might be lying or something - she says she'll have to get someone ELSE to help us.
She walks away, and after 5 minutes of nothing, I go back to the computer counter to find her, and she says, "someone with the key is on his way."
I go back to the monitors. A very friendly woman comes over and says, "Do you need help?" "YESSSSSSS!" I cry out with joy, having finally found someone who seems to want our business, "we need a monitor."
"Oh," she replies, "I don't know anything about that, but would you like to sign up for Verizon DSL?" I was just dumbstruck. I mean, what idiot asks you for help who doesn't even work for the store???
Long story short - after 2 more reps, and a supposed review of their inventory, the monitor my dad wanted wasn't in stock. So, they get the manager, he calls another store, and tells us we can go pick it up in midtown.
My dad says, "How quick can you get that store to send it up here?"
The manager says, "We're out of stock."
My dad says, "Right, so when can your other location send one up here."
The manager says, "No, we don't have any."
My dad got a bit annoyed, asked the guy to LISTEN and then to confirm "what you're saying is, you can't get your other store to ship the monitor up here?"
"That's right, we don't do that." said the manager.
So, I say, "OK, dad, we can just go to Circuit City."
And the manager says, "have a nice day, goodbye."
Use this store as an absolute last resort.

I realized after that last question, I should have made my Palm answer a review, sorry for the duplicates - If you need a PDA, Palm makes great ones!
Check out www.palm.com for product comparisons.
If you're unsure which type to get, being that there are so many different ones these days, consider the fact that there is more software and applications out there for the Palm Operating System than any other one. So, if you're big into downloading games, applications, diet and excercise programs, etc, you'll have a lot more variety with the Palm OS than any other.
Newer models have WiFi and Bluetooth built in which is a lot more convenient than having to remember a card to plug into your PDA for internet access.
They also now have their own software built in that syncs to Outlook, eliminating the need for Chapura.
A GREAT buy!

Sorry the other two reviewers had such a bad experience there, I must go on quieter nights when the place is less packed, and I can actually hear what the person I am with has to say. Apart from a strange man (who apparently works there) who is the dish cleaner, and appears as soon as you've emptied your glass to remove it, and argues with the waiter if he tries to clear your plate, service was very good. (Bartender was slow, however.) Food was mediocre - I wouldn't expect much from a bar, but it was adequate. Buffalo burger was pretty good, crab cakes fair. I had 3 gin and tonics. Usually one puts me away, and I wasn't even buzzed after 3, so not sure they put much alcohol in the drinks.
Atmosphere is very laid back, fun place to hang out with a few friends for a casual meal.

This is a little joint on the border of Chinatown with fast service, fast pacing, but well-priced, and great food! They've been around forever - the restaurant itself is tiny, but you'll never have a long wait, especially if you don't mind sitting at one of the communal tables where singles, and random small parties are placed together.
If you're going to order take out, and you don't call your order in, be ready to make your way through a crowd to the cashier to place your order, and then wait. There is one person to take orders, manage seating, and answer the phone. He reminds me a bit of the soup nazi on Seinfeld - he doesn't seem to like questions, especially the "How long will that take?" His standard retort is "five minutes."
Be patient, the food is worth it!
