On a cold day this place is great to stop in for a hot, heaping bowl of noodles and wontons. The menu is simple - choose your noodle type (egg noodles are the norm, but you can also get rice noodles or one other kind I can't remember right now), then choose what kind of wontons you want with them. Its tasty, filling, and it's hard to find anything more than $5 or so.

This place in Georgetown has a lot of the same Japanese groceries you can find at Uwajimaya, but often times it's cheaper here. They also have lots of deli items and pre-packed "o-bento" Japanese lunch boxes, and serve Chinese steam table fare to go for lunch. if you stop by around 5pm before they close, they mark down all the o-bento - it's a great way to get real Japanese food for a bargain. It's a tiny place so they can't possibly carry everthing Uwajimaya does, but still most of the basics are offered here.

This place is in a hidden corner of a little strip shopping center, but it was a great discovery. If you've never had real, traditional Chinese tea you should check it out. They have many different kinds of tea, kettles, mugs and other supplies. The owner was really friendly, and she sits customers down for "tea tastings" and demonstrations. You can probably find similar stuff for cheaper if you dig around in Seattle's International District, but if you're new to Chinese tea you will get more personal attention and can ask lots of questions here. It was a real cultural experience.

This place was great when I needed some stones to cover an area of my yard. They have huge piles of different sized pebbles, smooth "river rocks", red "lava rocks", or orange-ish "salmon rocks" for cheap. They will even bag them up for you and load them in your trunk. They also had sod and other stuff, but the rocks seemed to be their main business.
