I've read the reviews and I agree that Orleans is a cool place. One thing that everyone forgot to mention is that they have free wi-fi (unlike all the coffee shops in Davis). Ok, cool, so maybe you'll look a bit like a dork when you show up on Friday night with your laptop.. but it's a perfect place to do homework during the day or on the weekend at brunch/lunch. It's kind of nice really. The place is usally quite empty during the day. I must say that I enjoy sitting on the couches, with the windows wide open, eating eggs benedict and playing around on my laptop.
Oh, and if you go in and just get a soda or coffee the staff won't be nasty to you. I've done that and they are quite cool about just hanging out even if you only buy $2 worth of stuff.
