Like any Seattle native, I read a lot. At least I try to read as often as I can. And when I need a new book to consume, I always go to Half Price Books. Great selection and hidden deals make the trip exciting. And my favorite part is falling prey to their impulse items that they have at the registers. ie- Devil Doll story book. YAY!

Big screen, nice sound, good choice in titles, but I find the chairs too small.
Is it just me?

I always feel a sense of glee after I purchase tickets to see a show at the Paramount. I saw my first concert there, Weird Al, and since I've seen many other acts such as David Bowie to Rob Zombie to Primus. But I've also seen more than my fare share of musicals as well. Little Shop of Horrors, Phantom of the Opera, and so forth. And don't I dare forget the comedy! I highly commend the booking agent!
My only poor experience was during a showing of Cats. 2 theater employees stood in front of me and my friend and talked all through the first half. How rude.

Here is another great place to go for insomniacs. Open 24, the old 5 Point Cafe is bursting with personality. Trust me, the fun doesn't stop at 2:00am, but the fun does slow down a bit as the place is overrun on the weekends by the club crowd kids. By 3:30am or the place is cleared out for the regulars and fun continues.
My favorite visit was years ago. I was completely smashed, so as my friends continued to drink, I watched the movie "Dead Alive" without any sound.
I love the wait staff there too! Ramona and Sheila rock.

Is it 11:45 on a Friday night, you're wide awake and feel like doing something low key? Ok, it's Saturday night and you're feeling the same way. Well, you're in luck because the Egyptian Theater is there for you. They screen a different classic 80's and 90's cult movie every weekend. And sometimes, if you're lucky, you may get into a special event evening. My favorite so far has to be the "Sing Along Purple Rain".

Once upon a time there was a nice local store known as The Bon Marche'. It was a decent place to shop at; a place to buy a tie or some other simple piece of apparel. I even liked some of the staff.
And then it all changed. It took a few years to really notice, but the it's current version, Macy's, just doesn't have the same feel anymore. I don't shop there anymore but I do hear of frequent complaints from my friends. So sad.

A few years ago I had a dream to get a tattoo. I found that the artists at "Laughing Buddha" very easy to work with and understanding. The process felt like it took a little longer than I was expecting, but the end result was beautiful.Four years later and people still comment that it looks only a few months old.
Thank you Laughing Buddha, thank you.

This is the perfect example of what improv should be. I have never seen any other ensemble that can free fall with such grace than Unexpected Productions. Their shows can be funny as hell, and yet at times can be serious in mood and very moving; Improv is not always about gags and this team knows that. And I have seen enough shows to notice the wide range of talent that UP is made up of.
This place is perfect for dates, family outings, and just general fun times. See them soon!
