Twichell's has been around East Lansing for a long time, and I now know why. They do great repair work (fixed a belt loop on my wool suit - looks good as new), the dry cleaning quality is always good, the prices are competitive and the staff is very personable. They are a small little place, not as flashy as Baryames, but the quality of work is the same if not better (in my opinion).
Eco-note: They use environmentally friendly non-PERC dry cleaning fluid - not because they are required to, but because they wanted to.

I took my Fossil watch in to get a battery replaced and I was blown away at the professionalism of the staff. They apologized for the relatively short wait, took my watch, then maybe 5-10 minutes later gave it back and said there was no charge due to the wait. I'm just a college student, so not a big money spender looking to get "iced out" with jewelry, but they treated me very well.
As I browsed, they do have a great selection of fine jewelry and watches and a knowledgeable staff - so if you are looking for an engagement ring or a nice watch, stop by Medawar Jewelers.

The whimsical and family friendly atmosphere, combined with excellent food, makes for a pleasant place to dine. Their specialty, the "Flat" is an incredible buy - it comes with a healthy sized tortilla/quesadilla-like sandwich, taco chips and salsa, pickles, a carrot and homemade corn bread - all for around $5-6. They also featured home-made Polish food, adding to the overall flair. In conclusion, if you find yourself in East Lansing and are sick of the boring/fake atmosphere found at many chain restaurants, take the time to check this place out - it's well worth it.
