Katwalk is a little surprise in the Herald Square area, where aside from the brewpubs and bars, this is the only chic alternative for happy hour. Situated on the same block as Fairchild Publications and the fashion editors it houses, this may be the answer.
It's a more intimate, beautifully designed space with plenty of comfortable seating and nibbles to accompany one of their potent martinis. Happy hour specials almost always include any one of their martinis, so definitely check that out. You enjoy them either on the main level or upstairs in the lounge area, which is also great for private parties (I know, having been to a few there). Note that they are quite strict about the dress code, in keeping with the atmosphere, and don't permit shorts or flip flops.
