They recently remodeled and reorganized, so, I think things have gotten better in the last year. I brought my son into the Ear, Nose, and Throat clinic for his sleep apnea, and they were wonderful!! We never waited, they were so organized, and they treated my son like a little prince...He had surgery there about a month later, and we had the same experience. He didn't have as much fun at that visit...:) So, I highly recommend the E.N.T. part of Children's.

I was excited at the idea of EMP, even the building being so far out, but I'm disappointed. It costs too much and there's not enough for children, in my opinion. It is definitely more enjoyable if you're over the age of 12 and love history and music memorabilia. I think, if they wanted to get the next generation more excited about this area of the arts, they would have made more user friendly, hands-on exhibits where they could create music - even I had a hard time creating any music, and that was my major!

We attended Mars Hill for about two years, and MAN, do we miss Mark Driscoll (sp?)!! He is an amazing preacher - it's worth going just to check him out (or, as Robin said, you can hear him online). He's NOT the typical preacher - he didn't even become a Christian 'till college, he's only in his mid-thirties, he's hilarious, and he often uses words you'd never here from the pulpit. Some of the things we didn't like about the church: the music is loud, the room is dark (I'm just talking about the Ballard location), most of the people who attend are between the ages of 20-30, and the church is HUGE...despite all that, though, you've got to go hear this guy!!!

After reading all these great reviews, my family ended up here. I was a little hesitant because it was a weekend and it was dinner time! However, it was great!! There was no wait at all at 6:30pm - it did, however, start to get packed around 7-7:30pm. So, if you want to visit before 6:30, I think you're good - just to put to ease those who hate to wait with their preschooler(s)! It was really laid back - they were friendly to my child as he literally tried to climb the walls. And, oh yeah, their food was as represented - we went with their advise on the pizza, which was very good with fresh ingredients, but next time I'm going to try a burger...

We had our Rehearsal Dinner at the Lynnwood location - they reserved a room for us in the back. It was soo fun - it was casual, warm (emotionally), and loud - but, they even turned down the music in our "room" for a few minutes, so my friend and I could sing a song for my soon-to-be husband! We all shared their great Italian plates and had lots of wine...over-all, I would highly recommend it, if that sounds like an atmosphere that might fit your personalities.

After my injury today, I want to work there myself!! One problem - I'm not in medicine. You see - this evening, I stepped on an old rusty nail in my front yard - looks like it'd been there since it was built 30 years ago! I couldn't pull it out or let anyone else touch the flip-flop that was nailed there, so, we went to the doctor, who then referred us to Northwest. They all seemed to be having so much fun!! They were so efficient and had me in and out quicker than I've ever been in an emergency room (okay, so I'm unlucky). Usually emergency rooms are a 3-4 hour event, even if you're loosing a limb, and I was only there for 2 total! I'll never go anywhere else...just had to rave.

When my son was 1 and we lived in Seattle, I went through the "lottery" system to sign him up for the Co-op at North Seattle C.C....I could NOT believe how crazy and competitive it was!!! We ended up moving to Lynnwood. I then found out that Shoreline C.C. offered the same program -- only better...NO lottery system!! There was room in many of the schools, even though it was a late start to sign up! The parents are more laid back as well - it doesn't feel competitive like it did in Seattle. Just thought you all should know. (If you've been the the cattle herd = lottery, you know what I mean). Just 'cause it's in high demand, does not mean it's better - we've had a great year!

I LOVE coming to this place!! There's a lot of stuff crammed together in a small space and the parking can be difficult, but it's worth coming to check it out if this strikes your interest bone!...
I LOVE coming to this place!! There's a lot of stuff crammed together in a small space and the parking can be difficult, but it's worth coming to check it out if this strikes your interest bone! They have percussion from all over the world - not just the African drums! I also like the fact that they have resources for teachers there (I'm certified to teach music) and instruments for little ones - my nearly 3 year-old has a great collection.

I have found that this is a great spot to come for a good cup of espresso - whether you want to cruise the internet at one of their dozen tables (with computers already set up), or meet up with a friend, when you have a child in tow (they have a little table with coloring stuff and toys). Their large windows, overflowing curtains, and large, comfy chairs make you feel like you might be sitting in a living room! I also like the fact that the ceiling is so high - so, it seems pretty quiet, even if there are a kid of two there. (There's also a B/W photo booth in the back that takes great little pics;))...highly recommend!
