In my 12 years of nanny experience, there are two ways to go to get a job, with an agency and without. If you go by word of mouth or by newspaper, you'll end up with the more balanced/normal families but you'll get paid less with few benefits. If you go with an agency, go with Annie's Nannies! I went through many agencies, and they were by far the most organized and easy to work with! You can expect, when going through any agency, however, to end up with families that are already a little off-balance and demanding, but you get paid a lot more AND there are benefits (like paid vacation). So, there's pros and cons.

My son was not having ANYTHING to do with smiling, when we went in. So, they offered to re-shoot in an hour. I took him to get something to eat and talk about his "feelings", we came back, they offered to use a different woman (who ended up understanding his age better), and we got some GREAT shots!! Unfortunately, many of them were very dark...and, they argued with me about it...."You don't want them too light"...how do they know? Anyway, the shots are great, but I still left with pictures that I wish were lighter!!

I've been here twice, and I think it must be the best kept secret in Shoreline!! They're right across the street from Costco. I had a friend say, last night, that if he's looking for a good steak and doesn't feel like going downtown - he goes here! They're atmosphere, food, and service was amazing!! I even spilled my wine, and they didn't make me pay for it...so, nice after being embarrassed. Their chefs and recipes are unique and mouth watering...worth a try.

We went here last year to celebrate our anniversary - we expected great things because of how much everyone raved about it, and how much it cost (money buys quility, right?!). We were sooo disappointed - the potential of this place is astronomical...with all the cheese and chocolate fondues...it's so sad. We didn't even have to pay for it - we had a gift certificate from my husband's work...I hate to say it ('cause I'm not a great chef) but, I could have made it all at home - nothing out of the ordinary. I don't know if it was the ingredients or the recipes that made it so bland...or maybe it was that I expected to be in heaven and it just left me on earth.

This is one of my favorite mexican family restaurants in Seattle. The fresh, homemade tortilla bar is very yummy, I usually want more than I ask for, and it's nice to have when you're starving. I've never had to wait more than 5 minutes tops, the service is fast, and the food is authenticish - what more could you want. Oh, and it's great with kids.

They do have the biggest burritos in Seattle - for the price!! But, I don't go often for several reasons, the lines are CRAZY and I don't find the burritos that tasty. I know, I'm weird, but I don't like Red Mill's burger's either! It's nice that they cook it when you order and that you can use the leftovers for a meal the next day, but I find the veggies undercooked and they need something with a lot more cheese - I'm a big time cheese fan. I really like that they're not a big chain but a family owned establishment...that's about it from my perspective - take what you want from it.

...in my case, it was the nicest thing that ever happened to me in a retail store!! It's refreshing when a salesman doesn't push an item on you when it may not be the right fit (no pun intended;))! I was impressed with their very large selection, sense one of my reservations was that it would be all grandma shoes (so, there were shoes that were in fashion, just so you know)! I got the impression that this was a family owned store, and the salesman was very helpful with my particular problem. I even left with a list of the brands of shoes I should look for elsewhere!!! Thumbs up.

I don't know if it was their smart plan or if it just happened to be there when they put in the new Alderwood Play Area, but it's right at the entrance!! My son always asks for some! I personally think they're okay (I think they have a chemical taste to them) and their staff look pretty unhappy most of the time. So, I think they could probably do something to make them happier employees - I have to admit, I would buy more if they were more pleasant!

This store is a great way to bribe your kids (rather than with food) when they have to do errands with you, but it would be/will be horrible if you have a "can we buy this" kind of kid!! Talk about an "American" store - LOTS of STUFF! We just go to look, and occasionally we buy some little thing that my son is obsessed with. The staff is WAY better than they used to be - at least in Lynnwood. They're not pushy anymore and very nice!!
