We tried El Encanto based on a recommendation made by a local. Six self proclaimed food critics all left very full and very happy. The menu selection was perfect, not too many options, just enough. Our server was friendly, helpful and attentive. The food itself was really good, especially paired with a pitcher of margaritas. But it was the restaurant itself that really pushes this place over the edge. A large pond full of geese and ducks is surrounded by both indoor and outdoor seating. There are large trees literally growing out of the floor and through the roof. And the prices were very reasonable as well. (Sun Glass Hut guy - thanks for the recommendation!)

We first discovered Maggiano's when visiting Arizona two years ago. We went there for dinner twice in three nights and ate leftovers on the off night! I think that was a little extreme but it really is good food. And it is a great deal. For about $25 (a set price) you get to choose two appetizers, two salads (get the Maggiano's chop), two pasta dishes, two entrées and two desserts and they will bring you as much as you like of each. It is all served family style and it all tastes great. On one occasion we went with a large group and one of the people with us has terrible food allergies. She called ahead to see what options they would have for her and when we arrived the chef came out, chatted with her and created a wonderful meal just for her at no extra charge. Worth the drive across the lake and that is saying a lot!

Just had dinner at Manzana's and I have to say I wasn't impressed. Our waitress was sweet as can be and when there was a problem with one of our dishes a manager stopped by to let us know it wouldn't be included on the bill and to personally apologize so the service gets a high grade. The food however was just ok. I ordered the pecan encrusted salmon and the waitress told me was a staff favorite. I was expecting an exciting flavor and it was very average. Nothing was particularly bad but I wont make the trek across the lake to eat there again.

My coworkers and I enjoyed a spa afternoon together at Ummelina. While the experience was not flawless, I felt they made every effort to make up for the mistakes we experienced. Our initial appointments were somehow lost and we had to reschedule. To make up for this inconvenience we all received a lovely gift basket and were treated to the tea service when we arrived for our reschedule. The tea service was great and we each enjoyed our individual services. I had a facial and was thrilled to find it included a mini massage and upon request she even did my eyebrows. I can't wait to go back.

The first time I had Mighty-O Donuts it was because they were in the coffee shop case and I wanted a donuts. I have to admit that had I been told the were organic and vegan I might not have tried them assuming organic and vegan equaled not yummy. Thank god I didn't know what I was eating because these things are delish! I have yet to make it to the retail store but am thankful my coffee shop stocks them on Fridays - and my waistline is thankfully that is only on Fridays. I would have to say that Top Pot Donuts are prettier but Mighty-O Donuts are tastier!

When you visit Maple Leaf Pet Corner you will find a veterinarian who really cares about your pet. Dr. Karen Konz has been taking care of my pets for years - long before she took over this clinic - and all of my dogs LOVE her! They know she will poke and prod them and yet they are thrilled they see her. She is also a very reasonable, sensible person and wont recommend unnecessary, costly treatments. She wants the very best for your pets and you.

Sushi Land is a great place to get a good, quick sushi fix. I can get in and out of there for less than $15 and make it back to my office in my lunch hour. The line can get long so you just have to get there a bit before the noon or evening dinner rush. I only wish they would stay open past 9pm, it would be a good late night place to eat.

So I just visited Paseo for my second time and man-o-man do they make a good - no GREAT - sandwich! I took a food loving friend with me and he said it was the best sandwich he's ever had. I've read the reviews here about there not being enough seating or whatever but all of that doesn't matter, the sandwich tastes great, has just the right spice, just the right amount of condiments and it is just the right amount of food. Five Stars!!
