The Greenwood Market is a good place to shop for all your groceries. It's located on 85th and 3rd ave, right next to Fred Myers. It's about the size of QFC and practically sells the same food products and such except it's a lot more cheaper. If your low on money and in the area, give it a try. It's in a good neighborhood next to a lot of stores such as Fred Myers, Bartell Drugs, and such. Next to Greenwood street!

Ballard Beavers, the mascot of Ballard Highschool. A great highschool located in Ballard area close by Market Street. They just rebuilt it about 5 years ago so it is still in very good condition and very clean and neat. The teachers are nice and will help you out with any problems. The school itself is fun and they hold many football games and dances so most people attend to those. It's also in a good, clean neighborhood and by a lot of good places to eat at lunchtime like Taco Bell, Zesto's, or Terriyakki.

Loyal Heights Elementary was a great school when I was a kid. It's a public school located in Ballard area. It's grades kindergarden through fiftth. I went here for all 6 years and loved it. The teachers are nice and make learning fun, and might even teach you in a grade higher level to understand middle school elements which helped me out big time. The field trips are fun and at a fair price, and there are also end of the year suprises for you, including field day and a carnival. If you live in Ballard area and if your child is ready for a public school to meet great teachers and friends, I recommend Loyal Heights!

Marcus Whitman Middle School is a great public school for any student. It is from grades 6-8. The teachers are great and make sure you accomplish and understand everything that your learning. The counslers are a great help whether you need to talk about school work, bullying, or family problems. The classes are fun. You have your regular classes: Math, Language Arts, History, Gym/Science, and then you get a choice of an election class which can be a language such as French, Spanish, or Jappenese. Or you can choose to be in band, choir, art class, or a T.A. (teacher assistant). I went here for 3 years, and I definetly enjoyed my middle school years!

I know a little cafe located in Ballard by the name of Salmon Bay Cafe. It is in a very quiet area by the water so you have a great view while munching on your pancakes. The workers are terrific and very nice. The food is the best! I recommend their pancake meal and clam choder. The meal itself will only be around $7.00. so you are saving yourself some big money! A great place to go get your hair cut is at the Greenwood Academy Of Hair. It's in Greenwood area on 85th. The people who work there are very kind and helpful and did I mention they give great advice. You will leave that store with a famous hair style yet a wallet still full of cash. Basically, I am trying to say that their prices are great and hard to beat. They also recommend greta hair products depending on the type of hair you have (wavy, straight, ect). They even give you great discounts where you can possibly pay for one, get the next free! There aren't that many around.. but there is one located in Ballard on 32nd and i believe 62nd.
