The University of Chicago is the 3rd largest employer in the city of Chicago, which is good, because the Pub is technically a private club and you need to be with a U of C employee or student to get in.
Once you're in, you will find a vast number of delicious beers in bottles and one tap, for cheaper than you would normally find them.
There is no sunlight in the pub. The bartenders are very cool. The jukebox is good. The pool table hasn't had new felt for 20 years.
