Rock Bottom Restaurant & Brewery

Saturday, April 29, 2006
Since they brew their own beer, I'm bound to go here from time to time, even though it isn't exactly my favorite kind of place. They have happy hour specials on appetizers, which make them pretty cheap. The beer is not cheap, but it's pretty good. Goose Island is the better brewery, but Rock Bottom has some good stuff, too. We got beer samplers for $6, expecting to choose 3 or 4 things. We were pleased and alarmed when 4 oz. glasses of everything on tap showed up at our table. I think we had had 9 beers to try and it was 3 in the afternoon. Geez. I've always wanted to check out their brewer's dinners. The menus look great-- 4 or 5 courses with paired beers. I've never had the money to go, unfortunately, but I've heard they're good.
