Grant Park is one of the great ammenities that Chicago has to offer. Most people forget to mention this place to tourists, but it is just as worthy of a visit as are the numerous museums, Navy Peir, and great restaurants in the city. The Buckingham fountain is absolutely beautiful. Stand by the fountain and you can get a very scenic view of the lake and the gorgeous Chicago sky line. There's nothing better than taking a stroll in this park and enjoying the lake front, the weather, and the view. This park is very well maintianed and did I mention, it's free!!!

You really have not had chocolate until you have had chocolate from Switzerland. The chocolcate that Lindt uses is from Switzerland and it is so rich and creamy, with a very soft chocolate flavor. This outlet shop is one of my favorite places to stock up on these little chocolate treats. They come in a bunch of different flavors, but the plain milk chocolate is my favorite. You should definitely stop in here to browse around. As a treat, you will be given a sample of their luscious chocolate!

I have used public transportation in many different cities and countries and I have to say that our CTA rates very low compared to the other places. The facilities are not the best and could not only use major renovations, but also could be kept a bit cleaner. Also, the whole system is kind of a nuisance. The trains are often late and the trains are crowded. BUT with all that said, you really can't complain about the pricing and the ease, because gas is so high nowadays and traffic has become crazy on the roads. With that in mind, I guess the pros of the CTA outweigh the cons!

This is a great store. Its similar to Marshall Fields and Bloomingdales in terms of its setup and merchandise. It seems very expensive at first glance, but if you are paitient and hunt for deasl, there's actually many to be found! The store is huge and there are many items here for men, women, children, and even housewares. My favorite place is the little clearance room in the shoe section -- I've gotten shoes there for as low as ten dollars before!

Last Christamas, I used this little business to get t-shirts and mugs printed with the kids' pictures on them for all the grandparents! This idea was a big hit with everybody and made for a great "personalized" gift. This place is just a little booth inside of the Orland Park Mall, but it is really a great find. The guy that runs this place is super nice and will help you pick out the right picture for whatever you are getting printed. He had some great ideas and really helped make the end product awesome. I know I will be using this service again and again!

This buffet is a bit far from the city, but it is worth the drive. The buffet is huge and it features many different Asian dishes, from all different Asian countries. There are a lot of great dishes here and obviously many new and unique things to try out. What I like about this place is that it is well-kept and clean. Overall, it is an enjoyable experience for almost anybody, including kids.

This is a great little restaurant for pizza. Trust me, it is way better than that Sbarro's pizza. But be careful, because their pizza descriptions are not really that accurate. Their "thin" crust is more like a regular crust pizza and their "deep dish" is more like a stuffed pizza. But either way, their pizzas are amazingly fresh and good. I love their deep dish pizza the most because the crust is just right and it is filled with really good fillings. The service here is always fast and friendly and it is a great restaurant to take the entire family to.

During the summertime, this is the place I like to take my kids at least on a weekly basis. The library is really nice and I think it has a nice architecture. While my kids enjoy looking through their big selection of children's books, I can usually catch up on a bit of reading myself. A couple of summers ago they also had a summer reading program for kids, which rewarded children for attaining set reading goals. I thought that was a great program for kids and I hope they bring it back again because it got my kids motivated to read!

Kmart has definitely already seen its better days. I guess the days of the blue light special were those when it was thriving and actually attracting a good set of customers. Nowadays, Kmart is really a dumpy sort of place. I went here to get my kids some outdoor play things, like baseballs, bats, and basketballs. Their selection was so sparse and the store was just plain dirty and disorganized. I know I've seen Kmarts better days and I think I would like to leave it just at that.

My kids seem to love this place, but me, I hate it. The pizza tastes weird and very "doughy." Almost like it hasn't been cooked properly. Its also so expensive! Just a slice of pizza is over 4 dollars and for pizza of that quality, that is a complete rip off! The only thing I can even remotely tolerate here is their salad. Its not the best salad in the world - just a few greens drenched in ranch dressing and some croutons thrown on top - but its better than the pizza for sure.
