Same old story from an auto dealer.
This time it was my dear Mother In Law buying. I emailed their "Internet Department" and was hit with two immediate "personalized" e mails - How can you personalize a reply in 10 seconds DUH! Autoresponders.......... Real people manning a computer 24/7 would work better.
We get to the dealership and meet one of the two guys that auto responded us....
We said we'd like that car the one you quoted us on - only to be told that it had no air conditioning..... Got Us in there well done. Nice sneaky trick..........
My MIL decided on a car with air conditioning and we lied saying if we couldn't be out in an hourr the deal was off....
No trade and cash upfront.
Sounds easy ??? It was just over an hour as the so called F&I guy (who when you think was not needed) as we had a check F (Finance) and I (insurance) so why the F&I guy?
To upsell us a lot of stuff we don't need that's why.
When my MIL stopped the F&I guy in his tracks and said "I know you're going to try and sell me a lot of add ons but I don't need them can we just go now?" the guy got a severe attitiude and questioned her reason for turning down the impending upsell - THE NERVE!
He said he was legally obliged to offer us these things and would she sign a form stating something like "did not purchase at own risk" emblazoned on it (with a Sharpie) - a legal doc with a Sharpie WOW.
We got out of their with no convivial handshakes or CONGRATULATIONS! you've just spent thousands of $$$$s (sorry given birth or got married)
Cheesey?? The photograph required standing next to the "Prosperity Bell"
I will never buy a car again.....
This was cheesey and the F&I guy was nasty in my opinion
DS
This is all my opinion and may be different in your case ;)
